Noxid's Monthly Game Challenge - Scores Galore(s)!

Second attempt, fared much better:

Took almost ten minutes, but hey, it's something.

 

tip: start from the highest level you can manage for better scores

Thankfully, I'm not sick of Tetris due to a friend of mine... (I swear, he's obsessed with Tetris.) I don't have a great score, but I think it's alright for now. Don't feel like giving this too many attempts.

I didn't manage to break lvl 20 but I think this will do for my opening score, it might take me a few tries to top it agian.

most of you should already know but for those that don't: tetris is, in fact, my jam.

 

I was actually kind of surprised at how well I did. I've always sucked at Tetris, but since the last time I played it was 6 or 7 years ago, apparently I can actually do things now.

I'll definitely try to improve on this later. I'm starting to see why people say Tetris is addicting. ^_^

It's doubtful that I could ever break into Noxid Tier, but at least I have a decent score on my own terms.

For whatever reason this time as it sped up I was able to keep going I think I'll wait for a while now and leave this as a target.

Years of practice. Other than that, if you just don't make holes in the stack it goes a lot better most of the time.

Well I don't even know how to get CLOSE to these scores! I even managed to get to level 9 from level 0 and get half the score of a previous run so I guess I had a lot more multi-line clears on the high score. But yeah I'm probably not going to rank higher than "Participant" for this challenge.

...On the other hand it's not like I'm a total Tetris noob and I have all month to try. :L

I don't really either, I tried to record it a bit but that didn't work out so well. You can watch my great 999,999 tetris friends game here though, maybe pick up a few pointers.

ALSO unless anyone objects today is the last day to submit a score for tetris

I personally think you should extend it a bit. I'd love another try, and Tetris is fun and skill-based enough that it's probably worth at least another week or two.
