Is the Mimiga writing and numbering system going to be used in the movie?
Sorry for the lack of progress on that, but yes, it will most likely be used in the movie.

I'm not gonna go nuts with the script, Atravir, that was Ragamuffin. But if you don't trust me entirely at this point, I don't blame you.

@Andwhy: Could you maybe make a post with an overview of the progress of Mimish so far? I never really got that at all.

Oh my god- this is such a cool idea. I'd love to help create symbols for this.
I don't get most of the controllers, however. How do they work? Call me dumb, but I'm a little confused. The
Controller symbols:
[alt] (means next symbol, the one below, is its opposite)
[null] (means the absence of whatever the next symbol, the one below, represents)

Conector Symbols:
[on] (previous symbol on/over next symbol)
[in] (previous symbol within next symbol)
specifically is what I have trouble with.
But yes, I understand it... mostly. I'd really love to help with this and maybe even compile a Mimish dictionary.

I've got here a small set of symbols I designed. Hope I'll be able to get them into the computer somehow...

Anyway, how do the controllers work:
[alt] - Well, makes the controlled symbol its opposite. For example [alt]{Hot} would mean "cold".
[null] - Negates the controlled symbol. [null]{Air} would therefore mean "vacuum", or "air-less"
[on] and [in] are connectors, which means they come between two symbols. Then they mean that the first symbol comes on/in the second symbol. {Vessel}[on]{Water} means "ship".
I hope this is helpful.

What does Mimish sound like? =O

And shouldn't it be Japanese, not English? Since technically... either that or just call it "human language." Maybe in the CS world there's some common human language.

K, got it. Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to write out some of these.
The trick is to avoid making symbols that can be represented by a combination of other symbols.

The smaller the dictionary you pull ideas from, the better.

New question: Does Sue speak English or Mimish?
English.

In fact everyone will speak English, the writing will be in Mimish.

Atravir took it down. But I'll quote the part with the Mimish.
Mimiga: (angrily) Z’l teth nell, Toroko! Gal de ob trath den!

Child: (stubbornly) Nit! Ve solt do tab doth!

Mimiga: Toroko!

Child: Nit! Tab doth nit!

Cut to: Quote, watching the spectacle with a look of bewilderment. Suddenly, a small red light on the radio device on his left ear begins to flash, accompanied by a synchronous digital ‘beep’. Quote glances at the radio with curiosity, but then looks back at the conversation with renewed interest. As he listens, the conversation begins to become understandable to the audience. Camera returns to the two Mimigas.

Mimiga: Gath den, soto ma! Fel will zo me that key!

Child: Nit! You can’t make me!

Mimiga: Hand over the key!

Huh. Sounds kinda funny. Not how I'd imagine rabbit-creatures to talk... but okay.

Actually that is not Mimish. Atravir wrote that before we started work on Mimish. I have a hunch that the language you quoted is D'ni (from the Myst games).

I've only played the original Myst, where there are only three talking parts, all of which are English.
No, that's pure-bred gibberish.
