Opression, Eyes of Flame, Last Battle, Run! and even Charge is are quite cool, too.
I see you're a total fan of the really fast paced songs.

I personally like the slower paced ones such as moonsong, toroko's theme, and that theme that plays when you are in the mimiga farm. Then again, I do have a soft spot for meltdown #2, labyrinth fight, and last battle

Geothermal, Scorching Back, and Balcony all the way

but also Last Battle, Labyrinth Fight, and a few others in second place.

I think that all the music is good, but the ones that I like more are:
Gestation
Mimiga Village
Gravity
Grass Town
Hero's End
Final Battle

My two cents.

I've probably already responded to this thread, but the most well written is probably moonsong. Interestingly enough, I don't like moonsong that much (when I first played the outer wall, my sound was borked, so I have 0 asscoiations w/ it), but hey.

Favorite song would be either balcony or labrynth fight.

For me, its not 1 or 2 songs, its a list! I will list in what I think well written CS music:
Gestation
Mimiga Village
Gravity
Pulse
Safety
Eye's of Flame
Geothermal
Living Waterway
Quiet
Scorching Back
Moonsong
Balcony
Last Battle
Get Heart Tank! (lolwut?)
Toroko's Theme
White
The unused Wind Fortress

All my favorite songs in the game. All well written and great to listen to over and over (since the game forces you because you are playing it).

Each song has an emotion, and a feeling. For example, Quiet, the song you hear returning to the Mimiga Village once the Doctor took them all away. It gives you a feeling of isolation, and being alone in a place once full of life.

Balcony gives you the feeling that end is coming. You see enraged Mimiga and forced to fight them because they were fed the red flowers.

Gestation gives you the feeling of being adventurous. The first song you ever hear in the game, starts off slow, and gets to a fast beat at the end. Up beat.

Last, Moonsong. Gives you the feeling of something I cannot discribe, but you feel it. You see the large moon the the background and the last sky dragon with Kazuma. You get 2 decisions beforhand to choose what your doing.

*imagine's them on CS 3D*

Kinda hard, each song delivers a different emotion and is meant for a specific mood.

I'm guessing this is an order of how well the songs play their moment, just top 5 though, seriously, all the themes are pretty darn good.

5. Man, as an introduction to a game this song is just catchy, nostalgia is imprinted in your head through visual and sound and it's really good near the end and also used in the plantation, for some reason, but it still works.
It's placed in two great places, the start to get you in the mood for the comedy to come and plantation, a moment in the story which is pretty important but also rather freecaring, you've got some side quests to do, some exploring to do, and a jet pack.

4. It's playful and upbeat, after the various difficulties that is the final boss and real final boss, this theme tries to give you a rewarding sense of relaxation and hope.
Until someone makes an quasi sequel or various mods.
But seriously, it's a darn good way of ending things.

3. Like Sindiewen said, it's a great way of starting things off.
Like Quote you're kinda confused, you're not sure who this main character is, or was, no idea where you are or what you're supposed to do, yet this theme doesn't push you, like your first steps nothing is too hard and the song accompanies you along the way.
Later, you return with your booster 2.0 and this theme is great for nostalgia, in a pretty subtle way.

2. Running Hell is to be honest, one of those themes I don't really like.
But it's great, even if it only gets good for me at the second half while you're gapped between two rows of angels comming out of the ceiling and pavement vents shooting arrows at you with spikes comming out of the floor and some on the walls.
The song fully captures.... yea you get the feeling behind this screw it, next theme.

1. A pretty goofy choice I'll admit, but for me a theme is epic (by the most part) when it fully accompanies the moment and like Balrog, it's not really threatening and doesn't take things very seriously, yet out of nowhere as it comes this theme takes you by surprise becoming serious and dangerous without changing.

"Never Die" is not a cave story song. It's a remix of one of the songs (either last battle or running hell iirc) made by dj dain.

Mischievous Robot. He blends machine noises with music, and it's nice.
It's my favorite :3

Oppression and Running Hell. I'm playing both of them on the piano at the moment but I think Sebass wants us to have several hands xD. They are great tunes, they fit the mood perfectly

I like Meltdown v2 best tbh. Just is very catchy to me. Iron Head (beta music) comes in second and than Grasstown. Oppression's good too, and then there's Plantation- Hell, all the music in CS is friggin awesome!

edit: 69 posts hehehe

This plays at the title screen if you get a hell time under 4 minutes (but not less than 3).

I've only seen one person beat it in less than 3. What plays in that case?
