Most annoying way to die

The Doctor landing on me. Because gosh darnit how the heck are you supposed to dodge a random teleport?

... oh yeah and I'm on my 3 HP file right now so that's why it kills me >>

Also, running out of boost. Argh.

Finally getting up to Ballos' final form in a 3 Life run and getting shot by one of those fallen angels (Butes). Seriously, that made me quite upset before I finally recorded and uploaded my successful attempt.

So true. I struggled more with Doctor 1 than his 2nd form on my run like that, as well.

I couldn't agree with you more there, especially with this case...

Trying to get to AND from the Littles' house on first try + Booster 0.8 - Machine Gun Lv. 3 = Plenty of "You were never seen again..."s. Gah!

I HATE THAT! >_< I'm like, yes, one more hit with the blade and he's-- BOOM you have died wtf.

... also, several times I've killed bosses at the exact moment they've killed me, and I could have sworn I saw a small experience crystal where they were. o_O Just like the time I accidentally got hit by one of Misery's black lightning things (stupid mistake) while firing my Snake and I must have hit X the split second the lightning struck because the shot went from blue to orange. Meaning I got impossibly "de-leveled."

I died to Chinfish several times because I wanted to get the Alien medal and I didn't feel like pressing esc-F2 or going all the way over to the graveyard so the GK could slash me.

How about this one... "Okay, I'm just gonna hide here and-- WTF I THOUGHT THAT WAS GOING TO BOUNCE!"

This during the Doctor's room-full-of-comets attack thingy. I was right next to one of the "stairs" and this comet was coming right at me, but I thought it would glance off the corner of the "step"!

... I was wrong. D:

Yeah, if I ever DO beat the darned thing on 3HP and get hit by a falling block on the way back to the prefab building... well...

... well I wouldn't do anything really but I'd be very VERY angry. >>

Anywho, most annoying ways to die:
-A critter at the end of the last cave (hidden) on a 3-HP run.
-Sliding OFF Ballos' face, and RIGHT INTO the bone-shockwave in a 3HP run. (It's funny as hell once you realize it)
-In an attempt to use a bute's damage to get bast Heavy Press' death faster, you take the -5 too early, and your invincibility wears off JUST as it drops past you.

I can confirm that doing it for the first time with Booster 2.0 yielded the same results (I had the Booster 2.0 on my first playthrough).

But I thinque I've mastered the perfect range to hit him ^_^

Heck, I'd argue that with the booster 2.0 (which I am playing with) you still can't avoid him all the time. Maybe I just have a slower than usual reaction time... sometimes I attempt to keep moving... and it doesn't work. Other times I try to turn back but am -just- too slow... and it doesn't work. Other times I attempt to quickly jump up and boost past... and I end up jumping into him. Sometimes I simply don't react at all until too late.


I suppose if you just pause momentarily to check the general direction and distance the crystal is headed, you'd have better luck, but I do like to kill his first form before he shoots off the bajillion comets attack (or at least before he does it twice).

There's also the time where through some weird combination of jumping and boosting I ended up getting bumped to the same place as the Doctor when I defeated first form and he transformed. Really sucked because I knew there was nothing I could do about it. As soon as the boss meter came back up, BANG, -5.

Oh yes, fish missiles suck. They do.

And of course low boss meter = recklessness... which is the cause of death so many times... >_<

I use the Snake on Muscle Doctor, Blade Lv 2 on his first form. I usually get in two or three blade shots on 2nd form though before I switch. I use the snake for range, really... as the reasons you might not want to be close to him have already been outlined.

 

The only way that strikes me as an annoying way to die...
During the Core battle, if you slack off or underestimate the Core. And accidently fall down while the water starts to rise completely... Argh....

Hmm... it would be interesting if the Core battle had lava instead of water,,... lol

 

Most annoying way to die? A virgin.

Worst time to die at? Before you fuck Chaco and Curly.

Strangely, I found it to be worse with Booster v2.0 than with v0.8.
