You know...making them NPC's might solve most of the problem, since actually making the lights change the way they do is a bitch right now.
If the light entities were NPC's, then I might not be so against finishing the mod, since a few <CNP events would change all the lights...

And I wouldn't have to have this mess...

I'm not sure if I this is the right place to ask or if I should start a new thread, but would anyone be willing to make a sprite or two for me?

What I need is a sprite of a Gaudi jumping, and throwing projectiles. Basically I want it to act like a droll. Anyone willing to help? You will be fully credited.

Hey, does anyone know the ANP commands for a Gaudi? Searching for them brought up absolutely nothing, and the list provided in Noxid's beginner modding guide doesn't include them.
Nevermind. I've decided to go with a droll, because a) it means less work for me and b) I want this character to stand out from the normal enemies.

On a serious note, how many people have --successfully-- made a custom boss in a Cave Story mod with a custom AI instead of fitting it to another boss's AI? It seems like a really intricate and difficult task. ;A;

It's a work in progress.

I think Noxid's assault mech counts as a custom boss.

and the blocky fight was just a misery reskin

original thread was closed and im not sure where to post this thread, but the mod discussion subforum seems to be more about technical stuff so im putting it here. a cursory search of the thread did not give me my answers

im playing this mod: http://www.cavestory.org/forums/threads/2839/

I have the machine gun and unupgraded missles (did not talk to misery on purpose)

1. how come when i go to grasstown to get the bomb, there is a star trinket or something in the chest instead
2. when i try to get the sky blade it just says 'go away'
3. when i trade in my four mirrior fragments to the gunsmith, i get a mirror instead of polaris. how do i get polaris

am i doing something wrong? i did everything the guide said to do up to where the guide ends.

The guide is defunct and should not be trusted.

There is no explosive.

The sky blade no longer exists, but keep talking to the statue, you can still get something from it if you ask enough times.

The Polaris is found in the Red Tower I think. That or it was taken out, I can't quite remember.

You get it in the red tower. SPOILER ALERT:
You need to have a life pot with you so that you can save Curly with it after you defeat her in her possessed state, then she'll give you the Polaris.

Allow me to be the first to say, no, you didn't do anything wrong. Everything you posted was functioning intentionally in that version.

Allow me to be the second to say, however, that that version of Jenka's Nightmare is not the latest one. The most recent version can be found { here }, and has the consequence of, unfortunately, having to start the game from the beginning again due to the map order and practically all of the event flags having changed. Moreover, the guide you're using will become obsolete, but the website I linked will eventually contain updated information.

The version you linked is full of bugs (some game-breaking), and a lot of misleading information. I'd understand not wanting to start over again, but I know from personal experience that that version of the game cannot be completed under certain circumstances, due to broken flag-jumps and what I assume were leftover debugging events.
