The sprites probably have been made before. I'm sure lurking around someone has them. One of the mods where curly replaces quote should work.
Maybe your computer just sucks or something, because I can see the image he linked just fine.

No it's actually a very good computer. It's just the image hosting site, didn't work on any school computers either.

I can access the image from both my home and my school, so maybe you should try loading it via a proxy.

Alrighty there we go.
When making facial expressions, you gotta realize that it's not just one thing on your face that changes (in this case, the mouth). If you changed up Quote's eyes a bit to match the expression on his mouth it's really sell it and not look so..strange. Also eyebrows help. They also shouldn't be like right against his eyes too.

Here, I did some doodling to show what I mean

I also forgot to add: For Quote's tears, try making them longer and stream more instead of just little drops like that. Makes it more realistic. I'll show you what I mean if you don't get i.
Obviously, don't copy all the things I did here. Things (such as the eyebrows) were just kinda slapped on there to give you an example.

A statement of intent would be nice here. Do you have something that your trying to make it look like? What kinda of proportion or color do you wanna go for etc...

Heh, slipped my mind, sorry about that. It's currently just a test of my competence as I try to get human form down. For this fellow I was going to Re-color the hair and make a younger Jenka, but as for now I'l like to get basic shape out of the way and I like the color pink.

I'm also trying to edit quote to look like a nes samus....
Here's what I've got so far:

Make them look like a quote edit, if that's what you were going for. If you weren't, i wouldn't use the quote spritesheet as a template.

Isn't Quote's spritesheet kind of literally the player character? And why would using it require him to forgo original concepts?

"Make them look like a quote edit" is quite possibly the worst suggestion I've ever heard on this forum, incidentally.

Because i don't know if he wants to use said sprites for a cave story mod, i'm going to take a guess here but when you are modding cave story isn't it useful to have a player sprite that is loosely shaped like quote? (Taking collision detection in account, his samus sprite is a bit thinner then quote)

Well, your right.
It's for a metroid nes cave story mod meaning it won't be cave story at all. It's based on metroid nes just using cave story's engine.
I might just drop the whole idea though.
By the way I fixed most of the quote faces!

Aside from slightly botched collision, i don't see why you shouldn't give it a try. Go for it!

That's not really the only reason... This mod will definitely require some assembly if not alot. For example: In metroid nes, there is a freeze beam (or gun as it would be in cs) that makes the enemies freeze and lets you step on them safely for a little while until they heat up and start moving again.
Some other beams would be easier to make. Like the wave beam: It's just like the snake only it spreads more like the bubbler Level 2.
Also there's metroids: they are like the jellyfish in cs except that they suck on your head, taking your health away. They can only be killed by freezing them then shooting them with a missile. Sounds WAY too complicated to do anything like this especially since I just started trying to learn assembly. I'm only understanding half of what I read from carrotlord's guide so far.:eek:
Even if I do decide to make the mod anyway, I will probably postpone it for a while.
