That's what Quote and Curly should look like in the movie, except Curly's antenna should be half covered by her hair.

When you do animation you cant over do the details or it will take long to animate, but that would be awesome if the whole movie looked like that :p

also 33 people have signed the petition

I meant what Quote and Curly should actually look like, not the style or detail of the drawing.

[CONSTRUCTIVECRITICISM]You need to work on your perspective a bit for this one, since the eyes and nose look like they are facing forwards when the should be facing the same direction as the head.[/CONSTRUCTIVECRITICISM]

I'm borrowing your thread, XristosX. :D

I tried drawing a custom Mimiga, and it actually turned out decent (surprising, since I can't draw for beans).

diph.php

I need to mess around with photoshop more, I don't like how it was colored.

Yeah, it does look a little flat.

I'm trying to draw one from the side, which is hard because I have very little to go on.

To XristosX: Instead of the soft shading shadows & highlights, use the hard-edged style, it looks cooler that way.

To Atravir: You are using two sets of shadows under the shirt instead of one, those shadows also need to be curved in the way an upside-down U is curved, except nowhere near as much as an upside-down U, so there is more shadow the further away that part of the leg is to the shirt, this will stop the legs from looking flat.

Have a close look at the characters' shading & highlights in the anime you watch. Also remember to use a max of one shadow and one highlight for each base colour.

Draw a rough in blue pencil (blue pencil doesn't reproduce when photocopied) and then use that to make a sketch in pencil. When you are satisfied with what you have (as in it represents the finished drawing without colour or shading) ink over the pencil.

Last of all, PHOTOSHOP will be used for the hard shading, there are some tutes for shading anime/manga style with photoshop on the net last time I checked.
