• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

Re: King: Strife and Sacrifice (old was King's Story)

The best part is when we see Mimiga Village in the past - it's a very plausible prequel to Cave Story, and it really stirs up emotions. The lines are especially well-written. ("So.... Much... Xxxxx!")

The Web of Tunnels reminds me of FF7; the music, the way it looks, and the fact that I ran around and around until I memorize the whole thing despite my poor logistics. I'd suggest putting just one arrow above the map, just like the "Hey!" bubble when you walk by Shelter (Cave Story, Grasstown) that pops up just once.

It's an excellent mod, and I hope I can see more of it in years to come.

Yup did em all myself. I haven't been sitting on my butt for nine months, I've been practicing a tad. I do so enjoy the extra resolution, too.

This one is animated :0

But that's all I'll give for now.

You should just make the map system into a new system where throughout the game you find maps of certain areas and can open them up. It isn't like you CAN'T do that.

Sorta like Explorer Story? :3?

There was an easy mode for like... two weeks in september 09' or something but not at the moment.

Sounds like it :0
Although the suggestion was more like having physical papery maps that you carry around, which would be nice but that would make the Map system kinda useless, so it'd have to be changed a tad.

Re: King: Strife and Sacrifice (old was King's Story)

Why delete old npc's if you can just recolor them and use them perfectly instead of deleting, then needing them and having to guess where to draw them

He's going to have to redraw them again of course, what with that crazy 2x resolution.

Well I don't mind that though, gives me motivation and reason to redo all the crappy old stuff like the robots.

Re: King: Strife and Sacrifice (old was King's Story)

So with the 2x resolution, will there be the same 16x16 charecters, with all the pixels being freed up, or will the charecters be bumped up to 32x32?

I mean the later would make sence, because the screen is being doubled, but the pixels are being freed up to?

?.? I'm so confused.
