And I wouldn't really expect too much of a price, since Pixel has his own supporting job as a software designer, and isn't making this for the pay.

 

Don't worry. I'm definitely buying the game.

Though I do wonder what Pixel did for money before now.

I could be wrong, but I think he quit that supporting job to become a full time developer.

 

I doubt he'd be making enough in between game releases to've done that, unless he's swimming in app money now

 

It's Kotaku (so it's hardly the best source) but in their interview with Daisuke they say he left the printing company to become a full time game developer.

Eight years on from the initial release of Cave Story, the game has experienced a re-emergence and a second wave of success. Amaya recently left his job at the printing company after ten years to become a full-time game developer.

I'm guessing the sales from all the Cave Story ports and versions and the Ikachan port have done him well enough if he did indeed leave his job.
