So, if you're all wondering where JJ is, I've been thinking long and hard about the scope, direction, and characters on the game, and, with the tips and advice of Matt, I've now decided.
Jenn's Journey is
cancelled for good. Jenn's Journey is getting rehauled and retooled, folks.
Yes, yes. The original direction of things made it hard to drive me forward since I didn't exactly know how to move things forward (Just to note, I have the entire chain of events written - it's just getting there, you know?). So now, I figured I had to approach the mod in a different direction since it's been about two years or so since I made the first demo and my first foray into Game Design (Which I am doing as a profession). Some original ideas have been scrapped in favor of new ones that I figure will fit Jenn and the others more.
Stuff minor and major will be changed or gone, folks. For one, I've received a lot of complaints and comments about Saki being a bit like a Human Sue Clone, so I settled on a different design, like this one!
And, with my new experiences and ideas with Level Design since then, I'm revamping old stages into something I hope people will like. Here's Bats and Buggers Revamped, taken a little over a week and a half from preproduction sketches to the finished product.
Here's a list of things I promise you guys will come in the next iteration of our favorite Scarf-Wearing, Blonde friend here:
- New Title Screen, Game Over, Boss Fight, and Melon Get Music done by Apis and Tpcool
- Improved and possibly all-new stages
- All the Dialogue thus far redone for the new direction of things
- Slightly less Moral Choices and the paths being split
- 100% More Melons
I will say it's a shame that the modding nominations had to come in at such a time, but hey, this new version of Jenn's Journey may just make it in time for the end of 2014, eh? I'm guessing about September or November release date people.
