Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Just open DrNpc in the sprite editor in Cave Editor and it fixes the problem.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Sorry for the double post, but the game has been updated.
Also sorry for procrastinating so much, I know I should be way quicker when handling fatal errors.

Ah sweet, an update. Old save files are compatible with the new version, right?

I haven't yet bothered to get very far in this mod, which is kind of sad since I finished the original JN. ._.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Yay for the testers!
And yeah, all saves will work.
Unless you sequence broke in G: Sky and then saved in the next map.
I also have a little secret for JN HARD that I'll put in when I have time. X3

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

I don't have the right version of my save here. Any chance that you have one from the point I need?
I left of from Oblivion Erosion
. I got to my old save point but I used a different computer at the time when I was playing JN (it's complicated so I will spare you the details). I had JN on my computer but at a much earlier point in the game

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Sorry, I don't archive my saves. That's a good point, though, I should do that from now on.
I'm sure someone else has a save from that point though.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

I'm guessing this is where we report any bugs we might find? o:

Well in Grasstown, one of the ghost mold things has a weird invisible, solid block on the bottom half of it. I don't remember where it is, but I might post a picture of it later if I return to it. Also, on the Pooh Black fight that uses all those Balrog fight scripts, I ran into him right as I killed him the first time and he went into the second script. This made me disappear as if he grabbed me, but since the next fight script started, I was gone forever. 8[

That's all I've seen so far, and I really enjoy it. :D

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Ghost mold? There are invisible blocks in grasstown. They have a purpose, rest assured.
The pooh black thing happens when he's going through his dying sequence, so there's not much I can do about that.
Well, maybe I can change it to balrog's entity, and make him jump off the screen.
Well, I'm glad you enjoyed the mod! I'm amazed how popular this mod has gotten, even as anticipated as it was!

Well, as long as it has a purpose. o:
It just threw me off because I started shooting at the mold and it just hit the block, leaving the mold unharmed. I just had to jump a little higher and shoot his head, but I wanted to make sure you knew. :)

Those stationary white ghost looking creatures that shoot out red projectiles when you hurt them. I don't remember their full name but it had mold in it in the original Cave Story. There's at least two, I'm pretty sure the one I'm talking about was the second one I came across.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Ah, I thought that might be what you meant. I didn't know that's what they were called.
Thanks for the info!
Oh, also, is there anything in any of the three games that seems uneven in terms of difficulty?

The sand zone in Jenka's Nightmare is certainly debatable. I know it's supposed to be hard but... There's a part where there's five enemies, and you have no weapon, so you're almost guaranteed to get hurt. I'll be able to jump over the four projectiles and under the two flying creatures, then land between the two hoppers and one runner on the floor, then quickly jump over to make my escape. However, even after a flawless run through that deluge of speeding bones, I'll get to the platform past them, and a good deal lower in altitude, forcing them out of the screen, and I'll end up having a bone thrown on my head that I could not have predicted that had bounced it's way down towards me.

And for the record, this is on my way to the missile launcher chest, so it's very likely that I had missed an opportunity to get a weapon beforehand, in which case, you should completely disregard my prior paragraph.

This is after only one night of attempts however, so I will be playing your mod more tonight. I'll make sure I didn't miss anything beneficial on my way to the missile launcher (knowing my luck, I probably did), and I might go back to Grasstown to see if I can't locate the mysterious, mold-protecting block, so that I may show you it's definite location.

The missile launcher is your first weapon. Use it sparingly! =3

Good, good. Now, I don't have to feel anxious about whether I missed a weapon and might never get it, or not. :)

Heh, you should. There's a lot of hidden weapons in this game.
That bubbler's bound to be somewhere!

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

About the Detonator:

After you have given the controller to the gunsmith and he has given you 30 detonator ammo you couldn't get anymore ammo from treasure cheats because there is a charm on it. In order to get the Uberbubbler you have to trade the Detonator, this means you can't keep the detonator.
But there is a "trick" to keep the Detonator and get the uberbubbler. Make sure that you trade the Detonator BEFORE you give the controller to the gunsmith and there you go. Now you can get the detonator ammo from every chest you didn't already open for missile ammo. When you sure you open every chest with ammo you can finally go to the gunsmith and give him the controller so you can get the 30 ammo.

1. Is this intended to happen or is this a bug?
2. I used this trick in Version 1.3, did you change this in the new version?

I hope you could understand my crappy english :U

Another thing: a few months ago I asked you if the player would get an item if he defeated Monster X. You said that this doen't happen and you would maybe put an item in the next version. So, did you do this or not?
