Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

The Detonator was great for killing those little critters during the Oblivion fight. I tried using it on Oblivion himself, but I seem to remember it not doing any damage. Maybe I didn't try hard enough?

I haven't even found the uberbubbler yet

He went fishing somewhere else because he's had enough of this island jive.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Yeah. :debug:
As far as I remember, there were a lot more dragon eggs in JN.
Maybe one hatched, and kanpachi just happened to be there.
With his fishing stuff and his luggage. Although mimiga don't normally wear clothes, do they?
And even the few that do wear clothes don't have pants.

I'm pretty sure I've never seen a mimiga that's not wearing any clothes.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

Really?
I must be losing it. I haven't played it in a while.
...Where are they supposed to live? There's only, like, two houses. One is really small and has no beds, and the other can only be opened by two keys.

Assume there are a ton of houses that Quote just doesn't give a damn about.

Or maybe they all sleep out in the open!

Or Mimiga are very social creatures...

Right, all those houses that don't exist.
And Quote's not the game programmer; his feeling of the houses doesn't change their existence.

You would have preferred Pixel make the Village ten times as big as it is, right? After all, the Village certainly wasn't just eight Mimigas big.

Also, you're seeing the Island from Quote's perspective, I'd assume most of the creatures therein wouldn't actually spontaneously combust upon death, and what actually happens is that he is no longer paying attention to said creatures for whatever reason.

But then, we're arguing about video games.

I say all of this with light-heartedness; it's not my intention to appear hostile or angry.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

That doesn't mean they don't exist.
Uh...I don't think that helped my case. :debug:

Bleh. I haven't done much on JN, I've been "busy" with maplestory. (Coincidentally rhymes with cave story...kinda. If you rhyme story with story.)
I'll get on it from now on, though.

EDIT: Curses, you edited your post!
And I don't think you're hostile, just putting up an argument.

Exactly! They're just "off camera, a little to the left" and Quote is all "Just the facts, Ma'am.":mahin:

Yeah, I guess you're right.
We'll just see if they're there when the 3DS version comes out. :debug:

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

We've covered this many times before.
You can beat the game, but the endings are screwed up. So, it's kind of in the middle.
I still have a side mission to add as well.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

No, not at all. However, apparently if you do everything to get the best ending, you still get one of the worse ones. It's merely a flag placement error, but I haven't gotten around to fixing it.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

The first time I tried to beat Genesis, I was tired enough that you could probably compare it reasonably to playing while tipsy. Disregard my comments about that.

Do not disregard the comments about the "lol, everybody dies" ending, though.

Or that stealing an Infinity Plus One Sword is a humongous dick move which any hardcore gamer (and guess how many non-hardcore gamers would be playing Jenka's Nightmare) will want to wring your neck for.

:D:p:p

And no, I haven't found the Nemesis since you moved it out of Genesis: Spirit.

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

We've already resolved the detonator/uberbubbler problem, magic.
...What comments about the ending?

Re: Jenka's Nightmare Revived

I'm a few months and about 50 pages late, but could someone provide the Profile.dat which is right after the end of the original Jenka's Nightmare?
