I really don't understand what everyone always bitches about. I never beat Hell, so I never reached Ballos, so I always thought that Ballos was near IWBTG difficulty, because of everyone's talk about how fucking hard he is.
Thing is, I honestly didn't find any part of the fight challenging. 1st part was just annoying because he did the lightning bolt attack thrice. 2nd only gave a challenge in not getting trapped in the corners. 3rd phase was just redundant, and I only got hit once by the eyes. The 4th and last part was probably the hardest, but I just used my life pot before he ripped apart at the seams and shot him with super missiles and fully charged spur shots.
Perhaps playing Castlevania has improved my gaming skills.

I must agree with this male and his opinions. Ballos isn't the challenge, hell itself is.

After going through all you have to go through to get to Ballos he can be a challenge because you aren't expecting what will come next.

 

Also, you probably are beat up pretty badly by the time you get there, and if you fail you have a lot to repeat. Also, I'm still not sure how you're really supposed to fight the last form except "Spam missiles, nemesis and spur and pray", not so much because it's hard as because it's impossible to, you know, get any practice at it, what with the huge ammount of challenges to get there--if you're on part four, it's all out every time.

 

Why did you make this thread Jacob? All this does is call attention to yourself, when in this case you really don't deserve it. I'm sure many people (including myself) could have beaten Ballos their first time through had they not had to go through the HELL before it. But you seem to be amazed at yourself when you beat him, without having to go through the torture before it. Even called yourself an [edit]ing god, which you clearly are not if you haven't even gotten through hell yet. This thread just ticks me off because it serves no good purpose. Beat hell, then maybe I'll congratulate you.

Yea, yea. Wow this is like my second time venting on these forums, gotta chill myself out. But still, the title for this thread just what irks me. The title makes you come off very arrogant, and if it's just about how easy ballos is, then you might piss people off. But I was already in a bad mood i think, so eh. Grats on beating him I guess, but try to beat him after hell, that's the hard part.

I don't think hell itself is terribly hard. If you had to do only one of them to win then they'd both be pretty easy. It's Ballos and Hell combined that makes it hard. I normally make it to Ballos with about 11 HP so there's a potion already spent. If you lose alot of health before you reach 4th form (too much to stand in his eye and kill him) then Ballos can be near impossible.

A nosedive into the side of a mountain no less.

 

Fighting Ballos with a full 55HP + lifepot seems extremely easy, you could practically stay in invicibility the entire fight with that much.

Hell is the part where you get softened up for Ballos, hell the 2nd room by itself is enough to sometimes make you have to blow your first lifepot if it screws you over.

 

If you can allow yourself to drink pot that early, you'd better be flying up and down instead.
