Can someone explain the image now on the site?

As much as I'd like to shout Balrog, they look more like Toasters than anything. {Moreso than Balrog, anyways}
I can't even guess as to what it is they're doing, but it's peculiar that "accepts" and "listen" are written in English...

Maybe some of you aren’t technologically inclined or whatever, but as far as I can tell there’s only one thing that it can be.

It looks like a flow chart that maps out how the server for the game works. This would probably explain the “listens” and “accepts” part. The part on the left shows how the message system works, and maybe also how shot data and facial expression data is transfered.

I noticed this since it looked similar to some of the posters at the U of A explaining how a network they were using worked.

this one's called "Soaprun", and instead of showing early pictures he just put 0.010 on his website.

Looks like some sort of maze game? Default character is one of those green labyrinth medical technicians, but you can customize it easily enough just like CS.

Also, did anyone notice the bottom right corner of Pixel's website?

Looks awfully familiar....

 

The previous version had no music (but did have SFX) and there was only the one map. Map scrolling also wasn't implemented, and as such there was only the one map you start on. There was also a game timer in the upper left as you may be able to see (if you squint) that ISN'T there now.

There was also a game timer in the upper left as you may be able to see (if you squint) that ISN'T there now.

Now it's in the bottom-right corner.

While I can't speak for the top left one, as I didn't get that version {Though it rather looks like it could be}, the bottom right one isn't a timer, it's frame rates.
Also, you can see in the screenshot that the bottom right one was present in 0.010, along with the top left one.
{So either a timer was removed, or a second frame rate}

No, that's definitely a timer. If you want I could upload it and show you.

Meh, I just said that to be on the safe side.
It looks as if both numbers say 52, and it just seemed pretty coincidental....

Well, for clarity (and because I am a tad bored) here's a better picture.

And a link, although I've gone and destroyed the graphics and the map, nothing about either of those changed in version .2
The controls are also slightly more sticky in this one, if anybody cares.

He's there because I couldn't draw a decent sprite, and his walk looked the least ridiculous when copypasted. And, I felt a need to change all the graphics. I thought the rocks and dirt looked kinda cool, reminds me of old NES games

 

Pro-modding?

Do you think Pixel's purposely leaving the sprites easily customizable? {Though, it could be because it's only version 0.020, maybe...}
Or do you think he's just not going to bother/doesn't really care about protecting it?

He saw the Cave Story Mods and was happy as long as he got some credit.
i'm guessing after seeing so much joy brought to people through his game in more ways than what he thought he may of just thought he should leave it editable and see what people can come up with.
By doing this it also shows Pixel what his fans are wanting in his games.

v.0.030 is on the site now, baby steps.

 

Baby steps are awesome.

So, now there's a Config option in the menu to change controls, four different character .BMPs, with the ability to change in-game, and now each room apparently has a name. {Wish I could read Japanese instead of Spanish...}
This is getting very interesting....
