Today I went to a flea market of sorts...a temporary one, like a father to the smaller garage sales common to this area recently. I had to extort the $20 owed me since I only had $3, but it was worth it. ^_^

I got a kiwi Beanie Baby thing - I'm not into BBs or stuffed animals in general, but it was cute and only cost a dollar. (Her name is Shelly. No exceptions.) More importantly, I got some random ring and two pens, some Uniball I've never seen before that works quite well and a really pretty handmade one. (This is a good haul in Polaris terms.) The guy who made the pretty handmade one also made a pen out of a machine gun bullet. It was out of my price range, but quite awesome. :3

What was the point of this post again? There was none. None at all. Nothing has meaning. Actually there's lots of meaning! Just none over here. Yeah.

Except no. Flea markets and antique shops are great, go look at them. That is what I meant to say probably c:

Flea markets are pretty fun. Haven't been to one in years though. Glad you got some good finds

We have a big flea market outside the city. Many kitsch things, Chinese clothes, some people selling hamburger (questionable hygiene), imported food from Hungary, cd/dvd, earlier there were many selling pirated games, mp3 music or authentic looking audio cds, but since everyone has internet and the laws got more strict these have almost vanished. You could get an actual flea too lol

I have this really pretty exotic flower on my balcony who just recently finished blooming a while ago:

It smells deliciously like vanilla! :D

I don't know if you people have any flowers or (potted) plants...?

Only noobs think flowers are for noobs. ;3
I think it looks quite lovely. Sadly, I don't own any flowers myself...I should get one, or some other plant. =o

Anyway, you know what's really fun? Getting out of your last day of school and immediately being told you'll be pulled into work the following day! :D

It's really nothing worth complaining about, I suppose, but it was a tad disappointing.

I dunno, work is a pretty good thing. It's better than not working, isn't it? But yeah, the following day would be too much for me. Hope you will fare better.

I feel disappointed, complaining internally about a prescreening of How to Train Your Dragon 2 that I'll be missing tomorrow because of work. Now my siblings get to see it, and my brother doesn't even like How to Train Your Dragon. >_<

I (well, the folks & I) have an oversized garden, does that count?

It's a oncidium sharry baby, a popular orchid but still hard to find in stores. I've have it for a while now.

What a lovely plant. Looks happy and healthy. It's always exciting to see stuff grow this time of year :3 All my rescued plants are super huge this year and just keep getting bigger and bigger. I have a purple iris that was just a tiny pot of wilted grass that had been tossed in my mom's garden (she probably forgot about it), and I put it in my garden not knowing what it was. In just 3 years it's taken up a good portion of my garden and is bigger than our other irises that have been around for 20 years. I'll post pics soonish.

I'd love to see that. £:

I don't know anything about taking care of flowers. Are there any weird caveats or requirements besides water and sunlight? And are different flowers easier or more difficult to grow?

I'd like to get one sometime. At least one - I could keep it in my room or something. ^.^

Yeah some require special types of soils to maintain better, some with certain pH levels even. Some flowers require more water/sunlight than others too. So it really depends on the type, yeah. But I'm no expert really. I just simply plant flowers, water, weed, the end. I could probably do well to pay better attention, but I don't have enough room for a big garden full of flowers with different needs so mreh.

It's kinda annoying not knowing the ph levels and types of soil you'll need to grow a certain plant. I really love rugosa roses b/c they remind me of the beach, they grow all over the coastal areas there. They also grow inland, but they only want sandy soils. You really can't find that stuff in stores
But right now i'm having lots of trouble with aphids, they are everywhere. See that green stuff on the center right flower? Appearntly i only noticed afterwards that there was a swarm of them that started wrecking my plant there. Some plants actually got so damaged by them i had to throw them away.

Orchids (tropical ones, at least) in fact don't need soil at all, they can only grow in bark chips b/c they grow high up in the trees and Vanda Orchids don't need potting at all. The more you know =I
