So basically, if I see a flower I really like in a store or something, I should do my research on it first. I'll be sure to remember that. :3

(Maybe I could even buy one this summer? That and a magazine subscription would be really nice things to have, I've never owned either before. ^.^)

Anyway, I'm heading to Six Flags today to get wet, sunburned and puked on! :D

Anyone planning on going to Six Flags or some other special fun thing this summer?

Joining a big new forum is kind of an odd feeling. When I joined here, I basically knew who everyone was because it's such a small place and joining was a significant event where I could suddenly talk to you all if I wanted to. In retrospect, I think a small forum like this one was a good choice because I kind of learned how the internet works safely and made a lot of good friends on the side. Since then I've signed up to a forum or two, but again they were very small - actually, microscopic even compared to this one. So when I decided to create an account at a sprawling place like the Puzzle and Dragons forums, I don't think I was ready for how big and active it actually is. :momo:

It's like someone from the country moving to New York. Suddenly you're in this gigantic, alien place, constantly stuck in the fast lane, filled with hundreds and hundreds of people who all aren't aware that you exist. It's a little daunting. You know how sometimes people are a little more polite or careful when they first meet someone or join something, and then later on they relax and get more casual? I almost feel like I'm going to be in that "polite and careful" state forever. I mean, I know I'm not, but after an intro thread and a few posts no one has acknowledged my presence. I couldn't find any rules as a guideline. I'm not even sure there's anyone else with Pokémon avatars, at least I haven't seen any. I'm pretty obviously a fish out of homeland waters. o.o

I guess I really should have been expecting the simple fact that you have to earn your place in a big forum over time, but somehow it caught me off guard. At least it seems to be a friendly enough place, though. I'm not going to be nearly as active there as I try to be elsewhere, but it's a thing now, I suppose!

So since there's hype, has anyone heard of Five Nights at Freddy's yet?

Apparently it's a "unique horror with weird but cool controls" or whatever
personally I think it's a jumpscare fuckfest but hey what isn't nowadays.

So if you have heard of it and/or played it/watched someone play it then what are your thoughts on it?

So i've looked it up and it doesn't sound all that bad actually, using cameras with limited battery life to spy on violent mascots and stop them from reaching your guard post. You prob won't be able to keep an eye on them for long periods of time, i'd imagine it would be a thing more about paranoia than jumpscares (but i haven't seen any videos of it so i'm just guessing here). The concept reminds me of that old Sega CD game Night Trap. It might just be me, but the mascots don't really look that frightening to me.

I might give a walktrough video a watch, if i can find one because right now the search results are jammed with obnoxious scarecam lp's. Yeah, it's really fun hearing and seeing a shrill annoying cretin scream at every moment to take me out of the game, thanks. Got to love those memes from several million years past in the titles, too. I know it's wrong to judge a game by the let's plays, but it really soured my mood and i might give up on finding that silent playtrough. It's only 3 pages in when i actually start finding videos from the original devs.

But i dunno, it's been a while since i've played a horror game but i don't know if i'm willing to shill 2 quid to give it a try. Did anyone else play it? Is it any good?

I have a video of some guy with an annoying voice playing this (ambiguous!) on another tab and after the entire 16 minute video nothing significant has happened

Not sure what the fuss is about and the only fuss that I've seen so far is in the thread

I have no idea what the fuck you saw SEBTi but after 8 minutes if you haven't done anything in FNaF then it's already game over so either he wasn't actually playing the game or you didn't notice that the guy was doing stuff in order to win.
Because if you play well you don't get scares i think.

Oh btw did someone mention that FNaF is basically a big jumpscarefest because it certainly is and I'm not gonna play it

Basically the whole point of the game is to make sure you don't get stuffed into a suit and die horribly.
Oh and yeah basically it is a jumpscare shitfest since the goddamned things don't move if you see them and if they're next to your door you have like seconds to close it before they get in and fuck you up.
Oh also there's this little fast-as-fuck shit that's so fast you can barely close the door in time before you get shitfucked.
It's basically kind of like tower defense only there's only one tower and that's you.
I've been trying to watch Markiplier's playthrough of it but I've been too scared to finish it.
Oh well.

I've finally found a video w/o commentary and yeah the game only gives you jumpscares when you get a game over from the looks of it. The scares are loud as hell, though. Most of the scares are more from paranoia than anything else.

Either way, i've spoiled myself about everything in the game by now so i'm going to leave it be. I have a feeling there will be a ton of spinoff games following it's release, just like with slender.
