You dont even have to make it compatible, most gamepads, like the one i have are configurable

I don't know how to do that with mine...

Plus, its not all that hard make it possible to set it up during the game anyway.

Its pretty easy You just have to know how to do it

Yeah, I use GML (in Game Maker, its easier than learning how to code starting from scratch but it is still very powerful, actually powerful enough to make FPSs ) when I make games and I have no problem putting that in.

Also, I like the music!

Well I don't use GML, because I personally don't like it XD I just have enough experience to solve those problems with simple use of variables and some commands. So I get for example over 10 variables who has to do with the player event somehow, also global variables

I don't use GML because I really like it or anything, but since I use Game Maker (I'm not going to learn how to program games from scratch using a more advanced programming language), and I'm trying to do things like making online games, nice looking textboxes, and loading files from outside the program, and those things are too complicated not to use it. Thinking back, I should've learned how to code not using GML, but I don't really have time to go do that now. >_<

Uh, you CAN with pretty much any gamepad, iirc


at least i know i can with all the ones i bought


basically, they usually have an options thing when you install them that lets you assign it so when you press a button on the gamepad it counts as a key on the computer


eg: button 1 = Z Button 2 = X

something like that



If you're wondering, I use GGE909 PC Recoil Gamepads

 

Like I said before, mine can't, and its easy enough to program, and would also be more convenient than having to reconfigure your gamepad when you switch games.
