Sure, but I wouldn't go for it if fetish questions made it in. >_>

I know you said we couldn't pick and choose, but that's a bit different.

ALRIGHT CHUMS, LET'S DO THIS.

There are three main categories that we want information in:

Personal questions, like gender, religion, favorite pop tart flavor, etc.

Cave Story questions. We're a Cave Story forum, so why not ask questions about what we all have in common?

Location/mobility questions. A lot of us would like to meet other forum members in real life, but can't because of distance, money or legendarily poor timing (GIR, you motherfucker). I plan to collect information about where users are located and use that to determine where the optimal meeting place would be. The information you give can be as vague or specific as you like, since more precision is better but not everyone wants to give out their location.

The whole thing will be anonymous, because if you want us to know something about you, just tell us. I can't offer any reward for completing the quest survey, but you'd be helping to make something really cool. Cool things are cool.

I know little about statistics, so I'll not be able to do this alone, although I know enough about statistics to realize how much work this is going to be. If we become overwhelmed by all the data, we'll just drop the Cave Story questions because those are mostly a novelty anyway.

Well now that all the BORING stuff is out of the way, here's some questions I'd like to have on the survey:

PERSONAL:
Age
Gender
Sexuality
Sub-cultures you identify with (goth, furry, Canadian)
Political views
Religion
Resemblance to Professor Booster (we will find out once and for all)
Favorite platform (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, PC)
Are you actually a 50 year old man wearing a wifebeater

Cave Story:
Where you heard about it
Which versions you've played
Did you pirate the Wii version
Favorite character
Is Misery a MYLF (no is not an option)
Do you play mods

Meetup:
(answer any or all)
Country
State/province/precinct/whatthefuckever
ZIP/area code (don't know what the deal is with other countries)
City
Nearest Airport
Distance you would be willing to travel

Keep in mind that this will be anonymous, but if whoever is analyzing data really cared they might be able to guess who you are based on the questions. For instance, we only know one Lithuanian, so that'll be kind of a giveaway.

And if we find two Lithuanians, we'll make you do it all over again.

I'd take a census, but I doubt I'd be able to make it to any forum parties.

That data could also be used to help you realize that one of your good forum friends lives in your same town - it isn't necessarily for far-away meetups.

Cap I'll help you and stuff

Here is an edited list of your questions to include some mentioned earlier that didn't show up (in italics)
(answer any or all)
PERSONAL:
Age
Physical Gender (Do you have a penis)
Psychological Gender (Which gender you identify with)

Sexuality
Sub-cultures you identify with (goth, furry, Canadian)
Political views
Religion
Resemblance to Professor Booster (we will find out once and for all)
Favorite platform (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, PC)
Are you actually a 50 year old man wearing a wifebeater
Do you feel completely human
Do you wish to not be completely human
Do you wish you were a different gender
Wish you were a different race
What's your myers-briggs personality type?
Brothers?
Sisters?
Major?
Fetishes?

Cave Story:
Where you heard about it
Which versions you've played
Did you pirate the Wii version
Favorite character
Favorite Boss
Favorite Weapon
Favorite Zone
Favorite Song

Is Misery a MYLF (no is not an option)
Do you play mods

Hmm.
The only problem I see is if you're trying to find the location of other forum members, wouldnt it he useful to know which forum member it was that lives so close to you?
Honestly I don't even care if it's anonymous, but I think we may need two separate censuses (censi?): anonymous with personal questions that many may be uncomfortable answering, and a non-anonymous one, with questions like "are you a boy," and "what is the best pizza." And also where you live. I'd personally be happy to meet any forum member who finds themselves on the West Coast, I make my way to most major locations at some point or another (like with Ralren)

You want to put the location on the non-anonymous (nonymous?) census? This is the internet, and some people don't want strangers to know where they live. The idea is for everyone to meet up at one place, so we don't really need to know who lives where for that. If you want to visit forum members on your own, I would suggest talking to them about it. You know a few that live around the west coast.

How about we put in a slot for your forum name, but you don't have to fill it in?

The only people that will be looking at answers will be whoever's working on the survey (so Lace and I at this point). If you want even more security, we could make two separate surveys so that your personal questions and location aren't related at all.

I made the location part of the census, because that's what I have decided is most important. You can fill it out here: http://cstsf.questionpro.com
Every question is optional. Don't give out your forum name or area code or whatever if you don't want to. Except I haven't actually tested the survey to see if leaving blank answers is acceptable. If you can't do it, just give an obviously useless answer, for example "herpderpcocks."
For the airport question, you should use TripAdvisor to find your airport and airport code (I would like both of these) and figure out how far your budget can take you.

Well, I filled it out. Lithuania is a small place so I filled most questions with either Vilnius or Lithuania. Also to people who are concerned about security, first of all Captain Fab got this, aight. He's trustworthy. Also it's not like your boring lives are significant enough that anyone would even give one damn about your private information :chin:

Only five people have taken the survey so far. At this point, a meetup would be three people meeting in Pennsylvania, because someone refuses to go outside southern California, and DoubleThink just took the survey to tell me which state he lives in.

I wish I had Photoshop so that I could change Booster's hair, glasses and skin tone to black, add some bling, and write "foo" after "survey."
But yours works just great.

Done.
The location part, anyway.
We should make another one of those questionnaires, but with the other stuff too.

Well that website, which is the best I've found, will only let me make one ten-question survey for free. So if we make more surveys, they are not going to be half-assed because they will cost $15 a month.

Also, if you don't fill out "How far are you willing to travel" I'll assume that means 0 kilometers, okay?

I took it. Cripple might be close to me, if he is still in Florida (not that I have any intention of meeting him).

I think he's in California, I know he's in the same time zone as me.

Well captain, I'm the only lithuanian here. So if I made the decision to travel, I'd probably go anywhere.
