ALRIGHT CHUMS, LET'S DO THIS.
There are three main categories that we want information in:
Personal questions, like gender, religion, favorite pop tart flavor, etc.
Cave Story questions. We're a Cave Story forum, so why not ask questions about what we all have in common?
Location/mobility questions. A lot of us would like to meet other forum members in real life, but can't because of distance, money or legendarily poor timing (GIR, you motherfucker). I plan to collect information about where users are located and use that to determine where the optimal meeting place would be. The information you give can be as vague or specific as you like, since more precision is better but not everyone wants to give out their location.
The whole thing will be anonymous, because if you want us to know something about you, just tell us. I can't offer any reward for completing the quest survey, but you'd be helping to make something really cool. Cool things are cool.
I know little about statistics, so I'll not be able to do this alone, although I know enough about statistics to realize how much work this is going to be. If we become overwhelmed by all the data, we'll just drop the Cave Story questions because those are mostly a novelty anyway.
Well now that all the BORING stuff is out of the way, here's some questions I'd like to have on the survey:
PERSONAL:
Age
Gender
Sexuality
Sub-cultures you identify with (goth, furry, Canadian)
Political views
Religion
Resemblance to Professor Booster (we will find out once and for all)
Favorite platform (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, PC)
Are you actually a 50 year old man wearing a wifebeater
Cave Story:
Where you heard about it
Which versions you've played
Did you pirate the Wii version
Favorite character
Is Misery a MYLF (no is not an option)
Do you play mods
Meetup:
(answer any or all)
Country
State/province/precinct/whatthefuckever
ZIP/area code (don't know what the deal is with other countries)
City
Nearest Airport
Distance you would be willing to travel
Keep in mind that this will be anonymous, but if whoever is analyzing data really cared they might be able to guess who you are based on the questions. For instance, we only know one Lithuanian, so that'll be kind of a giveaway.
And if we find two Lithuanians, we'll make you do it all over again.
