CS Census?

I thought this might be interesting. It probably won't work.
The central idea is to compile a list of questions and ask them of all the active members (or perhaps have it be opt-in). This could help gather some cool data, and it could also help us plan better parties. Main topics in this thread are
1) Would you take a census?
2) What questions would you like on there?


Other things to be clear about:
1) I don't give a shit about whether you think OTHER people will take the census, just you.
2) You would be able to choose which questions to answer.
3) This data won't be used to eat your soul.

Edit: Here's what questions are likely to be necessary to plan partiez. The reason it's all about airports is so I can't track you dowwwwwwwn, but really just having you give your coordinates would be so much easier.

- How much are you willing to pay to go to a CS forum party? (In US dollars. Enter -1 for "I dunt care")
- How far are you willing to travel to go to a CS forum party? (In miles. Enter -1 for nocares)

2. I don't really care what the questions are. If I had to make a suggestion though - maybe something related to CS. Or, behavior/activities/patterns that pertain to you while browsing or posting on these forums.
3. I have taken a statistics class.

Tually, a stats person could be pretty useful.
I'm not sure how many trends will emerge with such a small n though.

For the record, forum party planning would basically just be a heuristic, so it's totally possible and sorta interesting.

Furthermore, all the raw data will be conglomerated, so after a few people have gone, it will be unassociateable. It will probably only be shown to public after at least ten people have taken it.

Well, we could ask questions about personal philosophy.. like, life views, political views, religious views..

Those are usually interesting.

 

I'm personally interested in Meyers-Briggs personality type.
We could also do some of the questions that were on that furry quiz.

This seems like a great idea, I always found random statystics enjoyable. What caught my eye was the party planning. Most of you live in USA, or at least Canada. So traveling a few states shouldn't be a problem. Of course, trans-atlantic tickets cost way too much for a lithuanian gentleman such as myself.

 

Are we going to have a method of data collection other than posting on this thread? Because some people might not want to put the location of their airport on the internet.

 

Can't we just make an online quiz or something? I'd rather do that.
