More like suggestions like those new weapons or the use of multiple characters where they follow you around, that kind of thing. Deciding how the game will play, since we might do that "Final Fantasy" trick of having new character progression, battling, etc. systems that give it that new feel while underneath it still has to feel like cave story.

Then I say we each try to come up with some ideas for the story if we are done here. So that we can try and pool all our ideas together and edit them to fit into different parts so that we can create the whole story.

No, it can be related to the story, in fact I recommend it to be related to the story, the thing I was suggesting was to have a new way of playing it, like having two weapons at once or new weapons or where you can switch the main character and each have different special skills, these are just examples BTW, though I really like the "two weapons at once" one. :D

How about 2 player mode? Doesn't have to be online. Like, two people play on one keyboard. Co-op mode and versus mode. =P

Ehhh ok... I have an idea!

Why not make the game from whole different point of view!

Make it such that you are playing the role of either Misery or Balrog and you could make your opponents Quote, Curly and all the rest of the good people :p

And i have ideas for their weapons too!

Equipment for Misery
1) Magic jump: You can hold the jump key while in the air to levitate for a short peroid of time.
2) Staff: Allows the use of magic
3) Psychic: Map system (lol)
4) etc.

Weapons
Magic ball
Lv1: Shoots out while balls of magic (same appearance as Misery's normal attack). Maximum 3 on screen at a time. Small amount of damage and low range. No area of effect.
Lv2: Shoots out grey balls of magic. Maximum 4 on screen at a time. Medium damage and long range. No area of effect.
Lv3: Shoots out black balls of magic. Maximum 5 on screen at a time. Good damage and long range. Wide area of effect.

Magic bolt
Lv1: White lightning balls. Strikes nearest 1 enemy with low damage.
Lv2: Light-blue lightning balls. Strikes nearest 3 enemies with medium damage.
Lv3: Black lightning summoned from the sky. Strikes 5 enemies all around you with high damage.

Etc.

Equipment for Balrog --> Similar to Quote's items. He's a robot too, afterall...
1) Wings...?: Press jump in mid air to hover for a peroid of time. Arms become wings (lol)
2) Steel armour: Reduces weapon energy loss (Arms Barrier)
3) Oxygen Tank
4) Sonar: Map system
5) etc.

Weapons
Rocket
Lv1: Small yellow missile. 3 shots on screen at a time. Fires in a straight line one at a time.
Lv2: Small orange missiles. 3 shots on screen at a time. Fires 3 missiles that spread.
Lv3: Fat red missile. 3 shots on screen at a time. Fires 5 missiles that spread.

etc.


Are they good? :D
Again, I don't know if they are really possible. But if they are i'm sure it'll need alot of hard work. Also, for the lightning bolt for Misery, maybe this could help:

You know, when you fight Misery at the end of the game, she produces 3 black balls of lightning that strike down when you're below them? You could do something to the hex code or something (frankly, I don't know lol. I'm just giving ideas) to make it such that the lightning strikes when an enemy is below it instead. :D

Maybe you could play the other side of the same story instead. Play as the "bad" guys. lol :p

Here's what job I'd be taking, but there should be more than one spriter. Yeah, I'm gonna be the spriter. And I can't make tilesets, backgrounds and such, only characters. Monsters too.

Oh yeah...

You could include various tasks for Misery and Balrog too. Like maybe... Guarding the red flowers? While making the undead core, the Undead core project goes wrong and you have to subdue it? Could be a boss monster.

And maybe Misery has to fight King to protect the Doctor. Defeat King in less than 10 seconds and King will eat a red flower by accident. =P

[This is all referring to the part where Toroko is fed a red flower by Balrog]

I would actually enjoy helping with the script. A good idea is to show what happens to Balrog and Misery when not fighting- like going around the rest of the island and stealing Mimigas. Maybe talk about what happens when the Doctor first gets the Demon Crown.
Also, talk about what happened to Balrog when he was transported by Misery (see end of Sand Zone). I think this is a great idea.

Yes that is the case it is to be built from the ground-up so it should be like this:

Leadership = S.P.
Organisation = S.P.
Map Layout and Design = Sharkenaa
Scripting = (Atravir maybe?)
Spriting = (various)
Programming (C++) = Gyro
Gameplay Ideas = Metalogz
Plothole Filler = andwhyisit :D
Allround = (everyone) :D

We really need a basic idea on what the game will be about. Maybe it can be the story about the fight against Maikid.

One thing that I can really contribute to the project is backstory or filling the holes that Pixel left behind, ask me a question that is not answered in Pixel's original game and I will give you an answer, read the Question thread to get an idea of what I am talking about.

Eh? What Maikid? Is it a monster or a character in Cave Story? :p
