I'm spriting now, for the area outside the cabin, should I use the rock pattern from Cave Story or make something more original?

Maybe a darker version of the tileset? Rotting structures, maybe?

The actual structures will be original. I was just wondering about the rocky ground. A darker version would be good though, maybe even a color that hasn't been used yet.

Sounds cool!
Changing the flower sprites so they look dead might be a nice touch too.

This is going to be epic! But not all of them. I'm going to need at least two of the flower sprites to make them tile substitutes. Basicly, if I need a foreground tile and a background tile, I can color one of the flowers to look like the tile and place it in as the background tile.

Couldn't you just use the flower entities?

What I mean to say is, that I can't use ALL the flower entities, because I can use a few of them as improv background tiles in the event that I need to.

That's what I was thinking. A question, how should I do the walls for the cabin, because they need to be 16x16 pixels. It will either be something looping or blocks of some sort.

I am going to have to change the story so yea just so you know. the story will be made in the form of radio messages made by a mimiga named seth detailing how the outbreak his situation and the creation of the zombies.


radio message 1:

Seth: To anyone who heares this i am seth a survivor. I have decided to make logs about anything related to my situation and the outbreak wherever i go. so log number 1.
I am currently hiding in this cabin so far i have held up well. I am using a small handgun to defend myself. And if i feel any hunger or its getting dark i look for a cabin and fully barricade all entrances and grab whatever food isnt rotten from wherever they store it. So let me talk about the outbreak. Well i dont have much time as i was only able to make a cheap barricade and i see zombies out there. So i was walking around as normal i was going to buy a gift for my girlfriend samantha when it all happened.

*zombie sounds are heard*

Seth: They're already trying to break in well that was all. Seth out.

I don't really see anything wrong with it other than the grammatical errors. It's almost without punctuation. That's fine, because it can be fixed easily.

Oh, and I'm just one of the composers and a map designer. Not like I have much to do yet, either that, or I haven't read all the posts in this thread because YOU GUYS POST TOO FAST.

Edit: Maybe we should make an official list of things to tackle so we don't need to go sifting through pages all the time?
