Okay yeah I haven't been doing much level design because I've been doing mainly asm. But I'm really trying to fix this as fast am I can.
The expansions aren't all missiles. Some are Fireballs, which you couldn't get if you already had the Machine Gun, and there also are a few ones for the Explosive.
The Explosive may seem useless, but you can combine it with the Fireball to get the Firework Explosive, then upgrade to the Cluster Firework Explosive later on.
You aren't meant to go to Grasstown or Egg Corridor early game, I'll fix that. Basically after getting Misery's Sceptre, the yellow critters are one-shot kill!
I'll probably also increase the amount the Life Capsules give you.
Currently in the process of exterminating Yellow Critters from reality
I can't really fix the glitch with the lava, but I'll try and make sure you can't get to the bottom of the map.
There are 5 types of Flying Gaudi, they shoot different types of projectiles;
Basic Projectile (Red), 16 damage, 2 HP.
Red Blade, 8 damage, 16 HP, bounces off walls.
Core Blade, 5 damage, 6 HP, goes through walls.
Red Energy Ball, 7 damage, invincible.
The last type of Gaudi shoots a random projectile.
The reason that the red projectile does 16 is because it is so easy to block.
Also, I'm trying to delete the dead end.
Once you unsave once, or die once in Ballos' curse, your save gets deleted, but it makes it so that it won't happen again, so you have to do it asap. There is a place with Ballos' curse accessible in the First Cave, but obviously you'd missed it by exiting via the door.
The Labyrinth M lava corridor now has legit blocks instead of fake ones.
You'd probably gotten the Turbocharge because of the Machine Gun Glitch earlier, but it doesn't actually have an effect if you get it that way.
I'd never actually wanted yellow critters in the Waterway, they were supposed to be Blue and Red ones.
The air pocket wasn't even meant to be there lol.
Also I might have accidentally corrupted the White remix, put in a fresh copy and corrupted that as well
I've already fixed the Missile Launcher, but why didn't you save hack it in? Lol

Removed random Rainbow Critter in Frosty Grotto
Patched Machine Gun glitch
Boosted some Life Capsules
Made Labyrinth H path much easier (Just follow the starblocks)
Fixed landing on the red bricks in Outer Wall
Fixed being able to visit Grasstown/Egg Corridor early game
Allowed escape from dead end in Labyrinth G
*Allowed player to skip entire first part of the mod, only for people who ceebs
Removed being able to leave the First Cave through the right side door
Reduced the damage of Pink Critters when they land directly on you
Fixed White remix
Fixed a few level design errors
Fixed a few text errors
Maybe I mentioned this before, but Blue Fuzzes now take 8 frames to regen
Going through a one-way block now refills air in the Waterway (hopefully)
Reduced sight range of the Yellow Critter (Now they are so easy to avoid I'm going to regret this).
Allowed Missile pickups to refill pretty much every weapon (Including those that recharge slowly by themselves)
This update was really rushed, so I might've missed some things. Pls tell me if you find more bugs.
Also, fyi, all damage to the player greater than 3 is randomised; the higher the number, the more random the damage.

I'm probably going to put death spikes in the rising lava later, because that's probably the only way to prevent the player going down where the lava isn't rendered.

P.S. I made this mod with my time and posted it on the forum for people to enjoy, not to say that only two parts are good and everything else is either a clusterfuck or shit level design. Especially people who have never tried the mod themselves and just try to agree with what other people said by looking at the screenshots of the bad areas. 'Every level is fucking awfully designed.' Nobody will care how many tricks you can pull with assembly if your level designs are utter garbage. You need to seriously hold back on the assembly and work on the actual meat of the mod.

It's nice to hear that you're at least thinking about fixing the level design, but again, level design > ASM. Nobody will care that you made Omega II shoot spiked balls if they can't even get out of First Cave.

Thank you. It was extremely odd that picking up the Explosive caused missile pickups to spawn even though they didn't refill its ammo.

Sometimes the truth hurts. People don't have to play a mod in order to tell that the levels are designed poorly; I took enough screenshots that conveyed how bad the design was. Honestly, I don't know if I feel up to slogging back through the mod again considering how nothing in your changelog implies that you so much as touched the levels despite how insistent we are on the matter.

 

About the saves: it's probably just the file extension; if that is the case you can just rename the extension and use your save editor on them.

Also the Missile Launcher Level 3 is capable of breaking starblocks beside/below you
Level 2 or 3 Fireball can break starblocks too
So can the Northern Star, which has bullets spreading through walls

That's intentional. I didn't want the player to see the map, as sometimes I use the same map for multiple purposes (Like the intro cutscenes). Obviously that didn't work for Outer Wall; I'll fix that later as well AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH

All those assembly hacks and original concepts like upside down death spikes, new weapons, original music and remixes and things like that which I actually spent time on. You seem to be only trying to find the bad parts, especially you trying to break the game further with the already outdated and messed up save data!

It's hard to point out good things when there are a lot of other bad things.
The custom weapons are awesome, but the spikefields, invisible mazes and some other things really distract you from it.

I'd implemented an option to skip the First Cave section, so yes. The mazes aren't invisible, it's super easy to find the fake blocks in those

Ammo now recharges while shooting, as well as recharging when you have no ammo, however it recharges slower than the Level 3 version uses ammo.

This should be correct for non-American spelling.

From this point on I'd like there to be a good amount less of getting hung up over every little detail of the mod, particularly areas that aren't supposed to be accessible yet. It's not as though anyone's being forced to play this (or not test with hax) or that it's not actively being worked on and nothing can be changed.

Having said that I do agree with the sentiment that releases be designed to go up to a certain point, with the uncompleted areas be properly inaccessible until the earlier parts are ready to go, at least from a mapping perspective.

That implies that I was supposed to have any of those by the time I got to the maze, when in reality it was likely that what few weapons I had were too deleveled to do anything. The Blade needed to be at least level 3, I had completely missed the Missile Launcher, I had completely missed the Fireball, and I chose the Blade over the Northern Star.

Yes. Aside from the absolutely ridiculous critter and falling icicle spam, the ice level was pretty neat. There hasn't been any kind of ice physics before, so it was fun to rush down the tunnel at top speed. The lava tank was also pretty creative aside from plastering death spikes onto its ceiling. Having to slow my descent with crumbling platforms and moving blocks caught me off guard, but it was something that I never had to do before in a mod.

Spoiler: No Fun Allowed

That's the point of testing, though. You need to point out what is wrong with the mod so it can be fixed later; this mod just has a lot of polishing that needs to be done. It's not like I could tell when the mod was supposed to end. One map just lead to another which lead to another and so on. Not my fault the forums have an image limit of 100 per post...

All that really matters is that the earlier sections of the mod get more attention before more sections are added onto it. For example, I hope that First Cave gets a redesign instead of getting ignored due to the skip he put in.

no. a concept that sucks still sucks, no matter how long you were on the loo shitting it out.

the level with the rising lava before berserk fuckfest was pretty decently designed though
