Whoa. That is not cool. Do you want to support indie game developers? How about donate to charity? If the answer to either of those questions is yes, then why not pay for this?

@WoodenRat: You know, I sometimes grok and even agree where the Pirate movement gets its jollies in a twist about DRM and stuff. But this is just stupid. I mean, how cheap can you get? Right now it's 5.34 USD to get CS+ AND those other games in the bundle. Those other games are quite good, too, at least for Jamestown I can wholeheartedly vouch and recommend for everyone on this board.

And don't try to pull that "I'm from poor country boo hoo" stuff. 5.34 USD is, like, 23 cents more than a combo meal at mcdonalds in Lithuania if this is correct: http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Lithuania&displayCurrency=USD . (Please do enlighten us if that page is incorrect) If that's too much for you, wth are you wasting your time, using computer and surfing web and playing games? Get a job!

But! Moving on... There's kinda stupid bugs in linux build still...:
And yes, I'm playing the 15-12-2011 build.

When I tried to access "Rest Area" from plantation, the game simply shut
down on me. The terminal I had started the game on showed (among other
things) the following lines:

Loading file: Stage/lounge.pxm
(Could not find!)
Loading file: Stage/lounge.pxe
(Could not find!)
Loading file: Head.tsc
Loading file: Stage/lounge.tsc
(Could not find!)
Loading file: bk0.bmp

...luckily I had a save quite near this point (just after climbing the
outer wall first time).

Now, I kind of fixed this for myself, by renaming the files
data/base/Stage/Lounge.pxm/.pxe/.tsc to lounge.pxm/.pxe/.tsc;
furthermore, I made copies of those files with uppercase first letters just
in case somewhere else in code they are accessed through uppercase first
letter. It seems to work for me now, at least until it crashes again
(fingers crossed). I have only accessed the rest area now and I got in
there, I haven't done any extensive testing on it yet.

Also, I played through the throne room (and got myself a save just before
hell run...) decided to watch the normal ending... and got dark screen
for some time and following messages at terminal:

Loading file: credit.tsc
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT01.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT01.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT02.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT02.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT03.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT03.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT04.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT04.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT05.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT05.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT06.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT06.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT07.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT07.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT08.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT08.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT09.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT09.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT10.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT10.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT11.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT11.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: CREDIT17.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT17.bmp
(Could not find!)

And the end there was also

Loading file: CREDIT16.bmp
(Could not find!)
Loading file: ogph/CREDIT16.bmp
(Could not find!)

I got some images to show, but all text was missing.

Then I tried again, copied
data/base/Credit01.bmp to CREDIT01.bmp, data/base/Credit.tsc to credit.tsc,
and all the ogph/CreditXX.bmp to CREDITXX.bmp, etc...

Since I have a save at Balcony I can jump right to the normal ending
and test it. Voila! Works! But you know... I haven't yet beat Ballos here,
(done that on original CS of course) so I cannot say if same stuff happens there too... (fighting Hell right now atm, can't believe how rusty I am in this again... died on Ballos' first form just minutes ago.) If I have to fucking fight ballos once just to get these errors to know which files I need to copy to other names I'm going to be rather pissed, you know?

I just posted this to inform all of you... Maybe I should post this to humblebundle or nicalis also?

It couldn't hurt to give them a heads up :D
I would suspect humblebundle would pass on the information faster than directly sending it to Nicalis, assuming he gets a lot of e-mail?

@Woodenrat - you should at least be discreet about it, unless you want the attention.

I am actually slightly disappointed in the humble indie bundle this time, since Cave Story+ is only included after you pay more than the average. Since... Cave Story was originally free, it would be nice to encourage anyone (even Woodenrat) to be able to pay any price they think it's worth according to their specific situation.

Although 5$ really is a good price o_o And they added some new goodies with this release :D

I pirated this SO HARD.
No, I don't like depriving Pixel of any money he gets from the sales
but I'm not giving Nicalis anything. Not if I can avoid it.
But then I got legit copies from a friend who bought the HIB4 anyway.
So, +1 to Woodenrat for using TPB. No matter why, I support pirating CS+.

You pirated the whole bundle just to not support Nicalis? You're hurting other developers as well if you're doing that. You can basically buy the bundle for free anyways, so you're not really doing much.

I don't quite think you guys understand the point of this. If you buy this, you dont have to give anything to the developers. You can give it all to charity, even! That would be like supporting charity and getting video games in return! Why would you not want to buy this? If you can afford a computer, you can afford to give around 6-7 dollars to charity. Pirating it is like stealing from children. (Which it is, by the way.) Also, I don't see why people don't want to support Nicalis. They are a respectable company, and they have done nothing wrong that I am aware of.

I concur with Dunc on this one.
I don't understand your motives, pirate-y members, but you are essentially the scum of these forums.

That's really the stupidest post I have ever read in awhile.

Not like I pay attention much to this stuff, but why the hell do you hate Nicalis? Did he murder your parents and kill your dog? You are still upset over Cave Story Wii being not what you expected?

Get over yourself and stop being so goddamn selfish. Geez. Scum of the forums, and also the scum of Christmas >:c

On the download page next to "Choose platform", there is an option to select "Soundtracks". Click on that and then you'll be able to select which games to download the soundtrack from. Gogogo

You guys are silly, of course Nicalis doesn't deserve money for working on a game. What an outlandish concept. And donating money to the Red Cross? Only losers do that.
