I can only marvel at the work of others and trace fractal patterns with my wood burning kit onto the soft skin of a freshly slaughter pig, enjoying the bacon-y smell as the hot point cooks and burns the flesh of the swine... What?

-When this is done, practice again
-Practice practicing
-Maybe try some other art style, which then needs further practice
-Create~!

Seriously, just get a blank A4 scrapbook or something and doodle whenever you feel like it. It might start out a bit meh but it'll be looking twice as good within a week. At least, this is my theory, since I haven't actually bothered to do it yet >_>

 

Also, always use a reference.

Well no that's not entirely true. Most people just rush with drawing hence the reason they think they can't draw. Plus he was saying to practice which is the key component.

You don't have to have skill to learn how to draw. Learning how to draw involves gaining skill. Before learning, you may not have any skill, but after learning, you'll have at least some skill.

And as Kuro and DoubleThink says, practice is the key to learning any skill.
