It seems like your poses are somewhat off
Before you start drawing your character, think of the pose you want and then try to perform it yourself
If it is physically impossible to do it or it feels weird then you should consider trying a different pose

It's like I draw the head and then I'm thinking "now what should I do with this arm/leg"

Bad planning I guess.

I should really draw a stick figure skeleton and then draw the character on top.

don't take this the wrong way but have you considered not drawing in the sonic art style and kind of creating your own thing?

Yes, I have been wanting to draw wildlife, (mainly birds and horses) but I don't have a good book with pictures. (yet)

Also I'm still learning the basics... real life animals with textures are a lot harder than cartoon characters.

Anyway, I did something with an actual pose.

Yeah quite a bit, good job
Of course you can always work on the anatomy but I say that to everyone and I need to improve in that section as well :p

My computer isn't in my room Nox.

And I don't fancy wasting Ink.

E: though my sister just volunteered to let me use her tablet.

So from this I gather:

1) You can only draw in your room (unless you are borrowing your sister's tablet?)
2) Or you actually think noxid is suggesting you print off pictures from the internet for reference (not that that's inherently a bad idea but...)

1) Yes, it's the only clean, flat, not-constantly-shaking surface in the house.

1b) I can put the tablet next to my drawing space, I can't do that with my desktop.

2) I thought he was suggesting to looks at pictures on the screen while I draw, it'a good idea, but I just can't practically.

( I should clearly spell out the situation instead of assuming that everyone knows everything about me)

Anyway, the tablet should solve my problems.

@BL and others: Yeah I feel like the biggest step in being an artist is straying away from copied works (like copying anime screens or official art, or completely emulating a style). Because then you have enough skill to develop your own thing.

Like Shadowcat. I have no idea what the context of your picture is, but I do enjoy the style. I can definitely see it working for a webcomic or something

It's good to get tips from other artists but you shouldn't try to copy a style or anything because it doesn't really work. Not saying you are but it's still good to think about.
In any case you're not under any obligation to stop doing what you're doing. If you want to draw mobians hey that's cool go for it, no one can tell you what not to draw. I have a very talented artist friend who draws mobians all the time and she's awesome.

Yeah, I should watch some artist actually drawing the object in question.

But I understand your point of not copying styles. I've learned that I will never be able to get my sister to draw the way I do and I will never be able to draw the way she does.

That's why I love art trades, you get a different art style.

I tried to think of something witty to say but all that came to mind was "beauty and the beast"?

@Coffeedoors: I mostly meant like copying to the point where it looks almost traced, but yeah you're right. Never anything wrong with piggy backing off of other styles a bit though. Also you are rather good at naturey stuff, BL!
