So here's the deal.
I'm sick of this mod. I can't get anything to work right, I haven't gotten anything done, and I can't think of what to do next. I don't want to have to deal with making a million assembly hacks to get this mod to function.
That's why I've chosen to abandon this mod, and continue working on Misery Story. I'm going to give it a complete rehaul, changing many of the old parts to make it star quality. I think I can think of a better and more solid storyline with a prequel, and it feels like something I can actually finish.
So, I'll be shutting down the download link for Amamichi as well. If anyone wants to keep a copy of the mod for themselves, download it now before I take out the link.

:( Shame, I found this mod quite cool, however I can understand where you are coming from, I look forward to the updated version of Misery Story, good luck. :)

That sucks, i liked this mod, but i look forward to the new MS.
Also, could you upload the last version of this mod you made before that post?

You know, I think it might actually be a good idea to bounce back and forth between Amamichi and Misery Story whenever you get frustrated/bored with your progress.

I found the extra maps in CE (sorry for looking in the exe) and hacked my way into the other maps (in other words i added a <TRA to one of the extra maps at the end)(sorry again)



spoiler ahead.
I really like the town with all the cats, it looks cool, and the music's really good.
Is the cancellation thing actually an april fools joke or not?

So... I haven't payed real close attention to this thread up until now, but I'm sure there will be others to arrive here much later than myself. Your title says that it's up to version 0.0.8, but the latest I could find on this thread was, 0.0.2, but the feedback does not seem to imply there's content I missed, and it sounds like it's mostly Dunc who's getting the inside scoop on all your PROGRESS, so maybe I got the latest public version. I've played the demo in the OP and read this thread now, so let's hope I'm all up to speed.

Anyway, nice job! It's still pretty early on for me to judge how good the dialogue is based on how you plan for everything to unfold, so I'm not really going to address that. In addition to what some have said about the invisible walls, the solid wall at the left side of the library felt a bit awkward to me, with bookshelves of the same shade on either side, but only the ones on the right side being solid.

The music was quite decent. Not as good as say, GIR, but still pretty good.

I really liked the new tiles you made in the first post-Start Point area, but like PixelVortex said, there could have been more below the floor for the library. Aside from that, I felt that the level design was pretty decent through and through.

Without repeating what others have said, there are a few things I would address:
- "Something is laying on the ground."
- What's the point of that red shard you find? I picked it up, but didn't see it in my inventory.
- You could have had a little sound effect or something for the stabbing of the little boy, considering it's such a big deal, and you could also make his dead sprite look a little more collapsed lying on the floor, unless you want some sort of weird Japanese death that keeps people supporting themselves on their knees while dead.

Anyway, nice job, I'll probably be following this mod from now on.
