• Please stop embedding files/images from Discord. Discord has anti-hotlinking logic in place that breaks links to Discord hosted files and images when linked to from anywhere outside of Discord. There are a multitude of file/image hosting sites you can use instead.

  • LMind if I send it tommorow then? Only got a phone at the moment. By the way, the 2x resolution hack is otherwise working great. the game still feels the same and the new version of Cave editor is working fine too.
    But I have a question as well. Wasn't there a document that labled all the parts of the weapon data awhile back? I think the link may have died but if not it would be pretty useful since I gotta remake the spark.

    Wow, I am the absolute God of gullibility. I just spent about 10 seconds staring at your sig, waiting for it to load. The sad thing is, I'm not joking at all.
    Yeah. Whenever it fires left or right the bullet kinda blinks, (not displaying one of the rects) and when I fire up and down there's no image at all. I thought the code seemed normal too. Maybe you could compare it to your nemesis code considering the only difference is the smoke at the end of yours.
    Hey Nox, I'm having a bit of a problem. The level 3 Nemesis in my mod is only displaying 2 of it's frame errects and I haven't made any changes to the .exe besides adding music. I checked out the old version and it worka fine there. This might be because of the 2x hack. Did you experiance anything similar?
    Whenever i try to enter a door in mimiga village it just fades out then fades back in at the same spot. I checked and the doors are all set to the right event and as far as i can tell the event #'s seem fine. i'd apreciate any help you can provide. thanks!
    I've tried Cave Editor v0.99c and Cave Editor v0.99, both resulting in the same error.
    File > Load > Dokutsu.exe, error loads right away (it actually loads the error regardless of what file I open up!).
    And this is the most recent version Cave Editor, unless they updated it recently.
    Hey Noxid. I'm using your modding guide for my modding needs and I have a small question. When I load up Dokutsu.exe with Cave Editor it gives me, like, a Windows error. Is there a solution to this?

    As you can see, I am back from err... the graveyard.

    I read your blog and I am very impressed that you are now taking on the challenge of remaking the CS engine (possibly NXengine style), but to suit your own mod.

    I'm considering remaking the Doukutsu Assembler in Java. Yep, it's gonna be a lot more flexible than the Python version.

    Possible advantages:

    1. More computers have Java installed, but most computers do not have Python 2.x installed. I think some people were either having installation problems or didn't know you needed to install something for the assembler.
    2. More instructions - yeah, just more support for Intel's unnecessarily complicated 32-bit x86 instruction encodings.
    3. Much better debugging - instead of giving you a cryptic error, the new version may tell you which line number the error was located. Then you can use a text-editor (like Notepad++) that shows line numbers to figure out where the errors are.

    Even if you're going to continue your modding on the C++ road, I think you have the most experience with my Assembler and so maybe you have some helpful feedback for the new version. Others like Dubby seem to be interested in using the Assembler. Also, GIR seems to have used it (finally) for his giant worm code. So yeah, there's a userbase, even if it's small.
    Hallo! My friend cave story said to ask you for help so here it goes: My mod is all messed up in mimiga village, i put a transporter in (it worked ok but a little buggy) and a door (worked great considering it was my first door but doesn't actually show the open door image after i press down) and now none of the other doors in mimiga village work. Please help me! by the way im game reaper nice to meet you.
