• Please stop embedding files/images from Discord. Discord has anti-hotlinking logic in place that breaks links to Discord hosted files and images when linked to from anywhere outside of Discord. There are a multitude of file/image hosting sites you can use instead.

the problem with modcons is that people have to be ready to join, meaning they should have the time, ideas/inspiration, resources and most importantly; motivation.
Unless someone is addicted to modding i doubt they would join 3 modcons in a year.

Say, is there some way of editing sprites without messing them up? I tried using MS Paint and saved it as a .bmp file, but it went horribly wrong.

just use paint.net, MSPaint will always set the bmp to 16 colors by default.

I thought the controls were bad, while CS was floaty in its jumpy it had a good enough control scheme and good level design, this on the other hand just throws you into a bunch of spikes.

Cave Story had spikes to punish you at the beginning of the game for not compensating for forward momentum. Everyone has died from those first cave spikes (you know the ones). Ikachan was no different in this regard.
