• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

There's a popular fangame to Yume Nikki, which is complete (?) and alot more eerie. It's called ".flow". You guys should check it out. Surprisingly, there's an english patched version ready to go. There's also a fanmade sequel called Yume 2kki that I've never bothered to check out as of yet, since I'm busy with ".flow".

.flow

Wait, this is that one game where you find Uboa from a light or something, and at the end of the game, she jumps off her balcony for some odd reason?

Hell no.

More creepy face poking out of the floor.
I'm out of this topic.

But in all seriousness, has anyone here not been afraid of Uboa?

About as scary as Margaret Thatcher

Seriously though I did not enjoy these games at all.
I liked flow better because of the art direction, which is more or less the only way to discern the two games.

These are my honest opinions from having played flow and Yumi Nikki for about an hour and a half each, after which I couldn't force myself to continue.

I wasn't. Everything in this game is totally abstract and nothing can hurt you, only wake you up. It takes more than a droopy face and a spooky noise to scare me, especially after being brutally murdered by fear itself.

I suppose it's not for everyone

And for the record, uboa didn't scare me much either. Other parts of the game are creepy, but not scary.

But everything scares you.

Anyway, I think these games are beautiful. .flow is a lot freakier and "scarier" than Yume Nikki though, honestly.

Nothing really scared me in these games, and I'm a huge scaredy cat in real life.

I have to agree with Noxid... I decided to finally get Yume Nikki and ... .......... lol ...... j,dfsfas

I managed to find 21 of the items without help, the hand I missed because I wasn't really paying THAT close attention to details...
The other 3 were in areas I didn't know about (looping wilderness desert and beyond)

Also... the entire time I played I didn't know you could press 1 or 3 to do effects.... BAH! That might have made it a little more fun...

I played it at face value, didn't look into the ... meaning of the game.

Uboa was a nice surprise xD I flinched the first time it appeared.

WTF. Okay, when I checked the wiki for the final 4 effects I was missing, after *BEATING* the game... I read the theories on the wiki.

Talk about DEPRESSING. Like every single theory is basically nightmare Nikki. Car accident, abuse, overdose, unable to adjust to gender/transgender confusion, suicide, death, rape, isolation, inability to speak the language, etc etc lol NEED I GO ON?

Anyways I played the game to the end... NOT FUN. But, unique, interesting, and artistic I guess...

Reminds me of a non-18+ purgatory version of a certain Demon* game... sorta

After playing it a day, I didn't have any unusual dreams... but I did have lots of dreams!

I downloaded flow, but I wonder if I'll really play it or just take a peek

Well I just beat .flow yesterday.

The end was the same as Yume Nikki, essentially

But apparently there are more endings?

Yume Nikki has an ending? Is it something I should see?

Some people view the ending as almost an explanation and the appropriate conclusion of Madotsuki's weird journey through her dreams. Others view it as Mado doing what the player wants to do after having to find all the effects.
