it was because most of your arsenal did insignificant damage to something with the health of a sand croc, so you had to avoid their initial attack, hit them for a small bit of damage, & then wait for them to be ready to appear again. You had to do this like 3-4 times.

 

Yep. I had found myself trying to get some EXP from a Sand Croc and ended up dying once or twice until I stopped myself and went after the sun-guys...

 

The sun guys die instantly from a lvl 2 missile & don't split either. That's a lot of exp.

It is possible, actually. You just need to keep jumping and be quick about it, also it's possible to regain air if you're at most 2 tiles underwater

yes i was lazy that day and couldn't be bothered to jump through

 

Literally drowned at the water spot in the Start Point, because I saw that hole in the wall at the side of the door and I wanted to try to get there by an "secret passage". But... SURPRISE! All was solid wall.

 

I unintentionally fell into the spike pit in Santa's House.

 

Got killed by Basil in the Egg Corridor when trying to get that one Heart Container.

There's times I enter a half-awake state playing games where everything's either oddly clear or somewhat muted, so either I do eerily well or fail spectacularly

It's almost tradition to run facefirst into the spikes in the first cave, and let's be honest, we've all jumped into the spikes in Santa's house, right?

 

They were tempting as heck.

 

my dumbest death was dying to the spikes in first cave. the ones you need to jump over.

 

My brother HATED the area behind chaco's house with the death spikes and bats.

 

You should fly, it's faster.
Elsewise get good at platforming, you'll need it in the Last Cave.
