Why Jack? He's barely mentioned in the game and just adds a bit of mystery to the story.

I actually went with Quote. Mainly because he employs the silent protagonist mechanic.
Everyone loves Quote, but what kind of person mows down his enemies and dances afterwards?! Tries to ignore King and leave without taking his Blade! Ignores Booster falling! Shoots missiles in the graveyard! Eats intelligent mushrooms! Sleeps in other people's beds! Steals panties! Kidnaps little men and puppies! Extinguishes other people's fireplaces! Watches Sue jump off the edge and turns around and leaves! And... and...
