What if Quote were in Super Smash Bros?

if they put quote in smash bros i wouldnt only use him because that would be dope as all phuqq son !!!!

 

I know lots of people have already made movesets for Quote, but I made on anyways.

Forward Tilt: Forward punch.
Up tilt: Jabs Blade upwards.
Down Tilt: Sweeping kick.
Forward Smash:Charges spur, then fires.
Up Smash: Fires a single missile upwards, the missile explodes a bit above Quote's head.
Down Smash: Fires a missile at a 45 degree angle forwards.
Pummel: Bashes opponent with Polar Star.
Throw and backwards throws: Throws grabbed opponent in respective direction.
Up throw: Throws upwards and fires Polar Star.
Down Throw: Slams opponent into ground.
Neutral Attack: Repetitive, light jabs with Blade .
Dash: Boost-rams into target.
Ledge:Boosts upwards,headbutts.
Floor:Swings Blade a circle.
Neutral Aerial:Boosts into opponents.
Forward Aerial: Aerial forward kick.
Back Aerial: Aerial backwards kick.
Up aerial: Boosts and punches upwards.
Down Aerial: Fires Machine Gun downwards, tiny amount of boost.
Air Grab/Tether: Uses Tow Rope as a grappling hook.
Neutral Special: LVL 3 Super Missiles.High ending lag.
Side Special: LVL 2 Machine Gun
Up Special: See Air Grab
Down Smash:Quote absorbs up to three energy-based projectile attacks.fires a Spur shot, with chrage depending the projectiles absorbed.Similar to Mr.Game-and-Watch's Oil Panic, except the shot can be released anytime.
Taunts

• Blows "smoke" off Polar Star(Like they do in movies)
• Holds out Life Capsule
• Loads missile into launcher

Final Smash

Quote jumps above the screen, comes back down with Curly in tow. Both fire LVL 1 Nemesis shots. They deal light damage, but are rapid fire.(Heavy damage + rapid fire is cheap). Only Quote can be hit for duration of Final Smash. Lasts for 20 seconds

Edit:Revisions Also, im assuming Down-B is Down Ariel.

 

One problem I can see is that his down smash boosts him, which allows for people to use it repeatedly to get back to ledges. Most moves that can boost you are only able to be used once while in the air, but down smash can be used multiple times.

 

Maybe it could have a reload time, tht make it so you can't get back up to a ledge unless you're only one smash away. After all, the Machine Gun does have ammo.

 

Make the machine gun his down+B attack so he can only use it once in mid air, easy.

There's an old thread about this, but I'm bringing it up again because there have been even more Cave Story games released since then. Do you think it's likely that Quote will make it into the new SSB? He's been in a game on both the Wii and the 3DS now, so it's not impossible. Also, feel free to post your ideas of what his moves could be.

A couple people had suggested that for his Final Smash, Curly could join him and help fight, and perhaps even ride on his back with the Tow-Rope. Which would be epic.

A friend of mine also suggested this:

The game pauses. A text window like in Cave Story appears and says "HUZZAH!", and Balrog drops down from the top and he crushes everybody.

 

Quote in SSB4 would be fantastic ^w^

 

It's not going to happen, I can nearly guarantee you. Two third-party characters have appeared in SSB, and those were the mascots of large companies. While you could argue that Quote is more or less the mascot of Nicalis, it's inarguably a small company.

 

Quote isn't a popular enough character, how many know about him? Everyone except the forum looks puzzled.

It's as likely to happen now as it was then. Which is not at all.

 

If you ask me, looking at it unbiased, I think I'd have to go towards not making the cut. Quote does represent a small, but good series in Video Gaming area. Since there was multiple releases, (Even on the 3DS) He has the correct requirements, but aside from the fact that it isn't/wasn't U.S. born, (Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya, Japan) I think that also doesn't help his case. It has a chance, but they'd have to ask Amaya and Nicalis first. If either one says no, then it's not gonna happen. (If I'm right, La Mulana had a release recently, and I THINK it had a good review from various communities though, this doesn't mean much/anything.) All we can do, is just keep our fingers crossed at this rate.

Misery would be too easy to beat people with. Example:
guy playing as misery:LIGHTNING BOLT SPAM LIGHTNING BOLT SPAM LIGHTNING BOLT SPAM LIGHTNING BOLT SPAM
everyone else:FUUUUUUUUU-

It would also be cool if you could play as misery and king...

 

well yeah but only if they unbalanced the game
The base character has nothing to do with whether or not they would be op in game

 

The most we can hope for is a trophy or something.
