Finished Celeste. Returned to finish the new finale DLC and I forgot how to play. My thumbs cried, but it's finally overrrr!

Also just got around to finishing Beat Saber's campaign. So I can excuse myself from further punishment... for a while anyway. Or maybe I will play today since I brought it up...

But, it wasn't so long ago that this song seemed impossible, and just beat it the other day!

Finished Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the first game recently too. The remake plays quite well, looks great too. But it's all sugar and no meat. Might be a long time before I get around to playing the other two. Doesn't really compare to A Hat in Time.

Also, finished the contest Cave Story mods (minus one).

BONEWORKS
Started that game yesterday. Pretty good! It is a fine example of what VR is working towards. Decided to get this instead of Alyx since the minimum requirements for Alyx are looking pretty iffy. Btw... fighting a human shaped enemy in VR was creepy. Stumbled upon an enemy and I'm flailing a hammer against this enemy trying to get him off me and take him out. Except he wouldn't go down. Very chaotic. You can probably come up with an image... Disturbing. Though, now I am taking names and chewing gum or something lol.
The only thing the game is missing is full body tracking... Kick!

Elsinore
Been a while since I played a text heavy game. This one has been a blast though. Stuck in a time loop in the world of Hamlet; you keep changing things trying to find a way to escape. Good execution. Surprises me how long it appears to be. Great indie game so far. Thumbs up.

Last Labyrinth
Got a fair deal on this room escape VR game. Puzzles... Save the girl and yourself from a twisted death game. Only issue is the story has yet to make sense lol. A lot less gruesome than I feared. Though, I haven't failed a ton of rooms yet lol.

UnderMine
Saw this played on youtube. Broke down and got it on sale. Making a little progress, but I kinda suck at it. Doesn't take much to turn a great run into FAIL material. Still kinda fun to play a single game here and there.

Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom
Real nostalgic. Uses conventions from the old Wonder Boy games, and looks pretty good too! It's a pretty decent game, though overly horizontal for a metroidvania? Maybe a bit too light-hearted for my taste? Will finish it eventually.

Sometimes I wonder why I haven't been more productive in my free time... then I make this list lol

Castlevania: Simon's Destiny.
The guy who made that is also the creator of a Mario inspired DooM MOD called The Golden Souls. Never played that one though.

I was getting 99'59"9 as my "Best Time" after finishing Easy Mode, and I (seems correctly) guessed that I had to play Normal or Hard Mode for it to 'count.' So I did, I went back through on Original Difficulty.

Playing currently:

A visual novel... but also a VR game, ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos. And I have to say, VR does wonders for putting you in the protagonists shoes, that other formats can't. Turn off the lights, put on the headset and strap in... it's one step closer to being a part of these stories in a human way. Seeing hands that are not yours, body that isn't yours. A really weird experience. But all the more immersive when everything else is golden already. Interesting characters, voice actors (with iconic voices I recognize from anime!), a well-told story... Oh and seeing things to scale in 3D, and not just as a flat picture... like seeing a giant standing before you thanks to depth perception; really cool. Well executed.

 

That does seem pretty darn cool. A graphic novel like that is a really good medium through which to create an immersive experience in virtual reality. I've never had much of a desire to buy a VR headset because I'm uncomfortable with the whole "Metaverse" business model, but I do have to admit that VR video game experiences are pretty amazing.

 

beat elden ring not too long ago, finally getting around to the real gamer's game, tho

 

Currently playing through Mega Man 10, my personal favorite. Played thru easy mode to get back into the swing of classic Mega Man and am now playing thru normal mode. Planning on doing a play-through as Proto Man and Bass as well. I wanna try to get the special stage weapons as well.
