"Your game has been saved, Huzzah!"
I'm pretty sure this game's creator has played Cave Story.

EDIT: Ohai, game's creator. Nice game, too bad its engine isn't identical to cave Story, or I would have made it farther. Unfortunately, whenever I play a game resembling Cave Story, my instincts kick in and I can't deal with minor differences in the physics. Very good game, though.

My biggest complaint is the lack of variety of enemies. Everything was a slime thing (even the boss, but that doesn't really count).

Also the story wasn't compelling/really there. I got to the end without knowing what to do, just was running when it said "Go!". Might want to make what's happening more obvious/mandatory.

Man, you weren't waiting for one of us to mention it, were you, abielins? (you lurker, you)

I do have to give you props for mimicking the gameplay like Cave Story. Aside from the keys shifting one column to the right (which, I don't understand), everything felt pretty much the same. While there are weakpoints in other areas, such as the story and enemy variety, I found it enjoyable!

And since you have played Cave Story, you really should mention it as inspiration somewhere in the comments. Heck, mention the WiiWare release to promote if you'd like...

...and it's freaking peanut butter! Why can't that just exist?

Ha, I just decided to come visit these forums for the first time ever to post it for you guys, but noticed someone beat me to the punch :p

Also: I shifted the keys because on some international keyboards, the Z and Y are swapped, making game play difficult.

I will probably be updating the comments when I consult with my partner. He did most of the part and levels.

I thought this was pretty neat. Lots of rooms, and a refreshing look at a cavestory-esque game.

The only thing that was kinda boring was the music. But I don't think I'm in a position to criticize since I'm not any sort of musician, even if it's music for a flash game.

Otherwise, it wasn't perfect but it definitely was entertaining.
