For the record, despite the fact that I probably would not have banned Lowell had I been in SP's position, my respect for SP has not diminished because of his banning Lowell. My respect for andwhy kinda has diminished though. Rules are not things that should just be blindly obeyed/enforced without question. Rules are based on principals, and those principals are really the important things. I'm all for making the forums a better place, but banning anyone who simply doesn't conform to some questionably necessary standard (i.e. the rules) is not nearly as effective as banning those who genuinely have a negative impact on the community.

I understand that. Though the only rules I am doing the bans for are the ones that are are ruining the forums (spam, flaming, pornographic content, etc.), the rest will most likely just get you a warning, maybe a ban if you keep doing it after several warnings. I specified this in the announcement.

The below is how I interpreted the situation.

SP: Change your personality overnight or BAN!
Lowell: What did I do wrong? (Insert explanation here) Quit making threats.
SP: BAN!

Forgive me for the WTF expression my face held after reading that.
