Could there be a bug in the code? In the game, the dialogue still shows Curly's face, even though I added <CLR to the end of almost every line to avoid it...

you need to add <FAC0000 to the beginning of every line you DON'T want curly's face in. (EG, after every new <CLR tag that you DON'T want curly to talk on.)

It works! Thanks!

Another question: Does the map size affect the background? I used a custom background on a 100x180 map, and that background showed up on other maps but not on this one (the 100x180 one). That same background had problems with other maps, but they helped me solve that problem, only for another one to appear. XD

Map size generally does not affect the background.

What exactly goes wrong with the background?
Do you use Cave Editor? Saw someone else recently suffer from an issue regarding background scroll types with that editor so I would recommend using BL/SDE instead for that.

Yes, I use CaveEditor because SDE doesn't work on my laptop (it requires Windows 8 and I have Windows 7). Also, I don't know how to install BL because it requires Java and I'm not sure how it works. (I only know Python XD)

EDIT: I also don't know if Booster's Lab would work on my laptop with 1GB of RAM.

I mean I'm just making an assumption on what the issue is (it sounds a lot like an issue someone else had elsewhere this month, funny coincedence) but your best bet may still be to see if you can install Java to run Booster's Lab and see if editing the background/type in that might work (or alternatively, have someone else edit it for you I suppose?).
All you should need is a runtime that can execute the .jar file from BL.

I'm not sure if Win7-compatible versions are still widely available though.

I'm guessing this might really just be a bug with Cave Editor and unless we can pinpoint why that happens there's not much that can be done save for using different tools.

I'm the same person with that problem :-|, but I already got help and I didn't want to bother the same person who helped me fix it because, well, that looks bad.

I asked the AI, and it said it could be fixed with a hex editor. Is that true? I just want to fix this bug so I don't bother anyone, because I don't like it. Everyone else creates their mods without any problems, and I need to find a way to do it without any issues.

Sorry for bothering you so much lately...

EDIT: Also, I've heard that Java uses a lot of RAM, and I don't know if my precious 1GB of RAM can handle it... Isn't Notepad++ enough to run Booster's Lab? Hehehe
