It's not a 4chan meme. It's used everywhere, and 4chan happens to use it the most because it's the second largest forum on the internet. I know many, many people who use memes all the time and some of them don't even know what 4chan is. So no, 4chan is not the internet. In fact, here's a list of 50 websites that are more important than 4chan.
And Schokobecher, anyone who Googles "4chan" is going to get the actual website before this thread.
