Why not get it for a Console? (PS3 preferrably)

Because consoles don't affect your download speed and you can't get mods for them?

1. I know that, but a Console is Cheaper than a computer that can handle Skyrim.
2. Mods? Can't you install those into a console with a USB flashdrive?

If I ever got it (which I probably won't, unfortunately) I may need to settle for getting it on a console because of my craptop.

What a shame.

Yeah, heh heh, about that...
Turns out my shitty 9200 series graphics card can just barely run the game on its lowest settings. It's laggy, but I THINK it may be playable. Assuming it doesn't crash on me for no apparent reason.

Getting a new graphics card will probably cost about the same as an Xbox. Choose wisely, but remember the only mods for consoles are the official DLC.

Yeah, I might just save up for the new graphics card, if I get a um... 550 I should be able to run it on low without lag, and it will only cost me $160. So I will probably do that.

I'd get the new graphics card, myself.

So in other news, I've sort of destroyed my sleep schedule.
>Thursday night: Stay up all night doing homework, get less than two hours of sleep
>Friday: Classes from 9AM to 4PM, with an hour break thrown in at 10AM
>Skyrim at 4:30PM until my 6PM class, then food, caffeine, and a few other distractions
>Skyrim from 8:30PM to 7AM
>Mac n' cheese, then sleep until 5PM

I um... guess I felt a little cheated for not being able to play it on Thursday night. Dunno how I got such a strong second wind for the whole night, but I'm kinda half-regretting it. On the other hand, after a binge like that, I'm rather motivated to get my homework done early at least.

I watched a few gameplay videos, and I take back what I said, the GUI in Skyrim should work just fine on console.
I still prefer a mouse and keyboard, though.

My brother got this game a few days ago when the crack came out.

From what I can tell, it's a really fun game. I loved how stars somehow represent your skill set.

I installed it on my old computer and then got my mother hooked into it - that computer has a 9500GT card and it runs perfectly fine with zero lag (the auto config set it to medium, then I cranked the settings up to high.) The GPU in this computer is a GTX 285 and it's running on ultra with a lot of everything maxed out, not having any issues thus far.

Consoles kill awesome games like these, the developers have to tailor the game to be compliant with the console's extremely shitty, (roughly 6 year old) crusty innards. In fact, i'm fairly certain that a lot of the in-game shading is heavily CPU-dependant - which I find to be a bit of a piss off - but there's a reason they did that.. and if the console versions of the game experience horrible lag spikes, which i'm sure they will, then there's a reason for that as well. Overbearing CPU reliance to make up for crappy GPU.

It's really not as graphics-intensive as it seems, and if you're partial to using an xbox controller then you can just hook one up to your PC. Computers are so much more efficient.

I changed my mind and became a Nord, Ken . Ken from Street Fighters. Everytime i cast Firebolt, I yell "Hadoken". Cuz I'm Epic like that. Don't think my parents are gonna like that though...

Skyrim is great.
My only issue so far is that all the quests in the game seem flat and emotionless.
No matter how exciting the concept of being a spy may seem, skyrim somehow manages to make it feel the same as the rest of the game.
Not that the rest of the game is bad, but I think it would have been more interesting if there were more actual variation as opposed to pseudo-variation.

My friend wanted to learn how to mod Skyrim, solely so he could change Fus-Ro-Dah to THIS IS SPARTA!

Someone made a mod (I lost the video sadly) that replaces the fus ro dah shout with STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM and STOP, YOU VIOLATED THE LAW from Oblivion. Hilarious.

Also, this.
