My dad got me a used copy of DW1 from a place called Trader's World about 2 years ago and there was a save file included with the main character's name being Matt. Exp. and Gold were maxed out at 65535 and all that was left to do was getting the best weapon and defeating the final boss. Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but who knows?
So far, I've played BOF 1 & 2 on an actual Super Nintendo, and I've recently been working on getting the alternate ending (Because I got the mainstream ending of BOF2 because I made a certain mistake late in the game... It's sort of similar to how my 1st playthrough of Cave Story went, ironically enough...)
I've also got a copy of BOF3 for Playstation, but until I get BOF2 officially finished, I probably won't get around to it...
I wonder who has defeated BOF1's frog boss in Camlon Castle while only on Exp. Level 1? I've done it before, but I had to get the equipment in the castle, as well as stock up on 2 sets of herbs and spend the rest of the starting gold on Marbl3 (Using one prevents random encounters entirely, unike similar items in RPGs which only decrease encounter rate).
Marbl3 is especially required to get past the Glooms in the castle (Their T. Bolt magic will kill you in one hit on the starting Exp. Level)
I've even memorized the damage values for this boss (Required the main character is in the back row and has the castle equipment on)
Attack power raises by 2-3 when enemy's HP meter turns purple.
Frog will always get the 1st turn in this battle.
Rarely does the boss deliver a critical hit ("Slam" attack), but it can happen.
If this battle is won, the main character will level up 5 times!
Whoops, I got carried away again...
So, to sum it up, yes I've played some of them, and so far I'm liking it.
EDIT: Another game it seems nobody plays is Legend of Mana. Personally, I think Playstation Magazine's rating of 2 1/2 disks is one half disk short of its actual rating. A lot of the soundtrack in that game is very memorable, as well (Especially the main boss theme, "Pain of the Universe" and major boss theme, "The Darkness Nova").
As far left of Agua as you can get in bof1 (past the forest and the tower) there is an area near a well with powerful enemies that that early in the game are near boss level. Best training place ever!

Really? I've only used the M. Slimes around the Goddess's Tower for quickly leveling up. Of course, this is much later on in the game than the spot you're talking about.

There are two endings for BoF1. It depends on whether or not you defeat Tyr (Myria) with Agni or not.
It's funny how LOM isn't considered SD4 anymore... It's like someone wants to hide it away for some reason. It's not that bad of a game, if you ask me.
I am a bit unsure about getting it to be honest, reminds me of the whole mythilogical "Lets drive dragons to extinction to show how manly we are" thing.
Well, it sorta is... But it's still very, very much fun. If you do end up getting it, go for a PSP one, since you can still play multi-player (with the right programs)... I miss the MH server.. T_T
