Gun control is certainly too lenient in America, but simply owning a gun presents very few issues - I think gun control is important however.
Mental health is obviously an issue, but most mentally ill people pose a greater risk to themselves than to others.
School is also a problem, in that we are essentially raised as sheep. It is difficult to determine precisely what role school should serve.
As populations increase, politics will likely become more ineffective, so it's important for more people to become involved in it.
The coverage of shootings likely increases the incidence, although, realistically, they are not very common.
So what should we do? Simply encourage people to think for themselves.
