Pokemon X and Y : Battle of the Sexes(?)

Looks like it finally got an improved Normal one, or at a stretch I'd say Flying (long ribbony things) or Bug (bow ties look kind of like butterfrees)

Last night Jackalope said it was Bug. I'm not sure if it's confirmed though?

 

I'd vote normal judging by the fact that it has pink/cream and ribbons. In the game the "ribbon" item boosts power of normal-type moves if I recall and a lot of the pure-normal type pokemon (clefairy, Chansey, Audino, etc.) have a similar colour scheme

 

That's what I thought too. I think it's a bit too plain to be bug. If it were they'd at least have antennae.

I'm thinking, or at least hoping that there will be another eeveelution in this gen, since they usually come in pairs.

Actually that's the silk scarf, the ribbons are different colors and raise your contest affinity (cool, cute, tough etc) in the older generations.

But yeah normal seems like the most obvious type. Or maybe a fighting type? I don't know.

"Nymph" in Japanese is "Ninfu" (as far as Google Translate says), and Glaceon and Leafeon's Japanese names both end with the "-ia" suffix, which is why the new Eeveelution is called "Ninfia"...

But that's just my guess, though.

If the rumors of new types are true (some people think that there are going to be new types), then I'd guess it'd be a Light-type, but who knows if those rumors are true or not.

Almost anything is possible, after all.

Good grief it took them long enough. If they were to go a step further and rebalance some of the old types again I'd be genuinely interested.

If they're going to add a second new type, it will probably be Sound-type, but I doubt that.

I'd think that it'd fit in with the "Dark > Ghost > Psychic > Fighting" quaternity (or whatever the fourth thing is if it's not a trinity).
But a Light, Dragon and Steel trinity? This will definitely be interesting.

They will probably have to, if they don't want a type to be overpowered like in Gen I.

Could be "sylph" + the famous "-eon" suffix.
And the definitions could either mean "a slender graceful young woman" or "an elemental being believed to inhabit the air".
...
So either Sylveon is a Light-type or it's a Flying-type.

Light-type, huh? I knew they would add that eventually. It seems in the first generation that Psychic was kind of a Light replacement, but since that was downplayed later I kinda had a feeling they would make a pair for Dark eventually.

Though the site's been updated and the code taken out. Who knows what that means for the type...

According to a report by Pokejungle on March 26, the picture supposedly shows the evolution form of Jynx. The new creature, which is called Rujeria, would have come with ice and physic abilities. However, the image was discovered to be a clever hoax due to the odd sentence structuring from the Japanese text.
