if I knew what causes this I could advise steps to prevent it

for now I guess I could advise you cut out the .bmp steps and just use .png

I think I may have found a solution. It's not necessarily just you pigaro, it could be any of us. Anyway.

Argh the colours have become buggered up again. Before saving please check the the hex values of things (which are what actually matter) are the same as they are supposed to be (e.g. sky is mostly #76b4ff) and if not then don't put the image on this thread. Beware that due to complex stuff the point at which the colour become corrupted migh5t not be the same as the point at which they look like they become corrupted.
AFAICT copying directly from the browser tends to be what breaks it; save and then open instead.
I might get round to taking a non-corrupted version of the image and re-applying all the changes that people have made this evening though I would rather not have to do so.

At least I'm not alone. I'll add this info to the OP.

A good colour to look at would be the purple in the yes/no part, which should be #9300FF.

 

actually it doesn't have as strong of an effect on really intense colors
better with the sky or the penguin maybe. I don't know the hexes.

 

Alright, I believe this may be better. The sky isn't completely the way it was, and I won't have enough time to fix all of the colors completely. I think it's pretty close. You can fix it if need be Noxid.

Alright, that was a bit easier than last time. Mostly because there was more surrounding image to sample from.. and it got caught sooner.

the hex of the sky/water(?) is 21 4D FF, or 33 77 255. That's the lightest part, like around the mermaid. If you think your image looks a bit darker, then double check before and/or after you upload.
