Pink Hour

Well, Kero Blaster is now out, and to get a feel of it, you should play Pink Hour. Pink hour is a prologue to Kero Blaster.


In Pink Hour, you play as a pink thing and you gotta find a missing document so your boss won't get angry.

Right, but visitors to the forums may not know of the Pink Hour demo since it's nowhere near recent and Kero Blaster is often buried below other threads. This thread is rather simple, but it's a slight convenience for the moment. ^_^

So I tried it...

First ending : Get the papers, get hit and make to the end
Second ending : Ignore the papers, and make it to the end (same as first except no dialogue about it getting damaged)
Third ending : Get the papers safely.
From the fourth ending...

I went through the game over and over trying to find a way to get the coin at the bottom of the screen...
FINALLY found out how. Gotta sell the papers to the shady boss.

To do that, you have to go through the game and defeat EVERYTHING at least until the boss, don't let anything slip by you, don't backtrack and don't get hit. Then when you get to the papers, ignore it, and go to the end where Frog appears to bring the papers.

NOW stop, turn around, and carefully return back to the boss area where you left the papers...
They will still be there. Get them, and ignore the boss that appears, don't shoot him.
Now jump back to the boulder area shoot your way to the secret life, and gather secret lives until you have 9 lives. Just keep returning to the area. NOW finally the boss should re-appear, but this time you can't hurt him. Walk up close and you talk to him, and he gives you a coin for the papers.

Now return to the end for the true ending...

lol, but seriously I did try all of those things and more to find the coin... you can do most of what I said except can't backtrack from the final area. You can apparently stock up on unlimited lives too, got up to 21 before giving up... Tried killing everything without dying, and playing without killing anything... tried looking for hidden walls, and swam in the water...

But no elusive coin. I guess it probably doesn't exist... Oh well lol

 

Let me just say: Pink Hour is so much fun, but it is easily 10 times harder than Cave Story, Dark Souls, and even Worlds Hardest Game.

I played Boshy before and it was okay since i beated the original game.

 

Back on topic, Pink Hour is now available on the App Store, still free and still a demo for Kero Blaster. =o

Since I've heard of a new ending and couldn't play the PC Pink Hour, I guess I'll take a look. ^_^

Wait, so the cloud ending, with the whole "to be continued" and not at all explained nature, has absolute zero relevancy at all to Pink Hour or Kero Blaster.

So either something else is coming, or it's just false ads...

The only different thing I see is the credits shows before that ending, when before they only showed on the other endings.

There is supposed to be some cloud ending with the frog guy... Though I might not be remembering the unlock procedure correctly.

I haven't played it in a long while.

 

The cloud ending and hard mode were added in the update prior to this one.
We're talking about what has changed in this latest update.

[E:This strays a little off topic into Kero Blaster territory. Not sure where I should put it, so I'll just leave it here. Hopefully that's okay.]

On the subject of updates, iOS Kero Blaster was given one a few weeks ago. The app originally had a basic Negativus Legatia thingy on brown background as the icon, it was changed to a still of Frog in a cloudy level. Other than that...I haven't noticed any changes. It was described as "Fix bugs, new icon", but all of the weird Boss Rush strategies still seem to work (they likely aren't bugs, though), and I hadn't really noticed any small glitches. So I'm not sure what was changed - Kero Blaster is probably the only app I've owned that makes me wonder what's behind the generic "bug fixes" update.

Pink Hour got an update two weeks later, but I think that was just to add more stuff like the Playism update. Didn't actually play it before the update, so...yeah.

Speaking of Playism, did PC Kero Blaster get any updates?

 

@Polaris:
GIR did find some bugs with obtaining weapons in the wrong order, which would consequently mess up the upgrades shop. He also shared this directly with Amaya via Twitter, so I think that might be what was fixed (though I'm unsure).

And yes, the PC Playism version does say that there was updates after my download close to release day.
