Nicalis Down?

Well when I went to see if anything new popped up on the nicalis forums today (which is rare, since they're pretty dead normally), the website was down.

And then I went to check their blog to see if there was anything about it there, but THAT was also down.

Hopefully they are just having server issues or something, but if it's the worst case scenario, maybe the company has dissolved. This is despairing new for anyone who wants to see a patch to fix cave story wii, night game, or whatever else they were working on.

So is this only me? Or are their websites really down?
Does anyone know anything about this?

(Oh also if their webpages go back up, and it isn't anything of much interest, I'll probably request this thread deleted)

 

What is this "night game" of which you speak? It wouldn't happen to be the supposedly cancelled sequel to Within A Deep Forest, would it?

 

I know nothing of why it's down, but yeah, it's down here too and I'm far away...wonder what happened.

Maybe they just didn't want to get flamed by the community anymore... because of their horrible port...

 

Well, it is interesting. They've been dead since April 1st blogwise, and I've seen no activity other than Tyrone and Tiffany showing up at these forums.

Looks like they just closed their site. Odd.


For the record, I have a site w/ godaddy, and that's functioning fine, so it aint no server error.

I was wondering if that was the case, since the 2 events occured in sequence.

I doubt it though. Doesn't seem likely.

 

That just made my day.
The funniest part for me though is that just the other day I was wondering if they had dissolved since I hadn't heard from them in so long, and now this.
If it's just a temporary issue, it sure had spectacular timing.

EDIT: Also nicalis.com is still up, but the subdomains nicalis.com/blog and nicalis.com/forum aren'y?

Does this mean that Nicalis and Nifflas are the same person??

 

Within a Deep Forest was made by Nicklas Nygen, pen name Nifflas, and has has a WiiWare reimagining produced mostly by himself, but also by Nicalis, currently titled Night Game.

 

I thought I heard it being called Night Sky at one point, but I can't recall from where... (yeah, Nicklas and Nifflas are one and the same)

It is a little odd that the domain still works, but not the sites under the domain... (coincidentally, it's those sites that get the most updates)

Aside from Nicalis.com, I assume that the sites could be down due to a negligence of payment. Another dead site I frequent does that from time to time.

It'd be a massive shame if La-Mulana Wii doesn't go through because of something going down at Nicalis...

 

It'd be nice if Nicalis (yes I'm referring to the devs/bloggers of the Nicalis blog in general, not an actual person named Nicalis. What else would you be thinking?) actually posted more often in their twitter so we'd know what the heck is going on. In terms of posting they're almost as inactive as me for crying out loud..

Oh yeah, it's Night SKY, though Nicalis often neglects to say so.

 

Mebbe they closed the site for economic reasons? Those admins there recieved a payment for maintaining those sites, which wasn`t paying off since their forums where pretty dead. They could be reordinated to do some different job in the company.
