Hope no one minds me bumping this, but I like talking about music.
I'm surprised to find that no one else on this forum seems to like metal. I myself am a huge fan of bands such as Metallica, Testament, and Helmet. I also really like grunge bands such as Soundgarden and Alice in Chains.

Here are some examples.

Mmm, can't speak for others but
I've always liked some types of metal, but I feel lost trying to keep the genres straight...

perhaps this educational video will help me :

Anyway x) Here are a few songs to listen to:
^ The Infinity - Five Pointe O
http://music.bucketheadpikes.com/ <so many different instrumental metal songs!

How about Metroid Metal or Undertale <3 ?

Oh here we go... I hadn't heard Cave Story metal...

Anyway to sum it up, I guess I listen mostly to alternative-like stuff, maybe some gothic and of course instrumental metal.
... and here's the last music post I made with links :

My favorite metal (obviously) is thrash, with post-hardcore (the actual post-hardcore-punk from the 90's, not current "post-hardcore") close behind.

I like the instrumentation of a lot of contemporary metal, but the vocals tend to bother me a lot. They're either too hardcore for me, like guttural screaming, or they sound like Boys2Men.
