Hopefully Capcom doesn't cancel this one.

I'm not sure how to react to this... It sounds incredible and fun, but I'm trying to think of a situation in which I could get people to play with me, without them giving me strange looks from then on.

And you'd be right! I saw this a while back when the Kickstarter was still going on, but I've always been a little confused on the details. The game seems complicated, but I haven't done much research so that could be totally untrue for all I know. The price will really determine if I get this or not, and I don't think I've seen a confirmed one yet. Really neat concept, though.

If I do get this, I'll probably just keep the little game pieces and never play the board game, since I'm sure I'm never going to be able to get any of my friends to play it (about 3 of them know who Megaman is). The pieces do look pretty cool though. Also, Capcom can't cancel this game, since it's not being made by Capcom. I suppose it is possible, but considering they released the abomination that is Rockman Xover, they probably won't care about this.

It is a bit complicated, but complicated is okay with me. I like using my brain. So cool to see Megaman as a board game.

The tough part for me is to find friends who would want to get involved in a complicated board game. I wouldn't mind doing it myself, especially since it's Mega Man, but I really hope it's accessible to my friends who aren't as in to Mega Man as I am.

Looks like an interesting game :D

I don't play many board games, but I'd like to see this one escape the Capcom Disapproval Zone along with Mighty No. 9. =o

Might No. 9 is pretty much free from Capcom's control by the way of the freedom market. It's "original" in legal eyes.

This board game, on the other hand, has a direct weakness to a Cease and Desist from them. Capcom could VERY easily end this project, in the sense that money is given to the board game's team through Kickstarter and PayPal donations, and the numerous trademark uses.

I'm no legal expert, but it's a sure risky project (I want it to be accepted as well).

According to the Kickstarter page, this actually is licensed by Capcom.

Oh… okay...

I see their hands have already graced upon the project, it was simply the banner that lead to false conclusions.

For those who are interested, the board game is now available for pre-orders.

The game is set to be delivered during October of this year, and it's definitely going to cost you. The price is $79.99 for those in the US and $94.99 for those in Mexico / Canada. I don't think I'll be getting it, but if you're willing to fork over that much, please share your thoughts.

Bu-bu-bu… whaaaa? :pignon2:

That's outrageous! Who's gonna spend 80 dollars on a board game that you'd usually end up playing by yourself?

That's just stupid. Completely and utterly stupid. t(0_0 ), Capcom!

If I had to guess why it costs so much, I'd say it's because of all of the stuff they're including. Take a look at all of the stretch goals that were met, that's a lot! Also, Capcom isn't making this, they just licensed it. This is being produced by Jasco Games.

Lots of people. It isn't that outrageous, honestly. For example:
Settlers of Catan. 50$.
That might not seem like too much, but...
Its 5-6 player expansion, just so you can play with more than four players. 25$. That's 75$ total so far.
But wait, there's more.
Catan: Explorers and Pirates. 50$. Base game required. 125$ total.
Catan: Seafarers. 50$. Base game required. 175$ total.
Catan: Traders and Barbarians. 50$. Base game required. 225$ total.
Cities and Knights of Catan. 45$ Base game required. 270$ total. And finally...
Cities and Knights of Catan: 5-6 Player Expansion. 22$. Base game AND Cities and Knights of Catan required. 292$ total.

80$ doesn't seem that bad now, does it?

If this was anything but Megaman, I would say "The only way you could make my pay $80 for a board game just for the novelty is if it was a Megaman board game!" But now it is, and I realize there's no way I'm doing that.
