Yeah, I'm confused, the "rep power" thing seems to change drastically from thread to thread, I have no freaking clue how it's supposed to work. I expected there would be some explanation on the "Forum announcements" board, but I guess not...

Actually, according to the member's list, whyme leads in last with five red blocks, followed by Ryu with three, and then DT and his one. But they all have 0 rep.
Thinking someone's trying to pre-set the rep for us?

And, oh, I see the Rep button thingy now. It's left of the report a post button.
I've read both good and bad about this system, but I guess we'll just see how it goes?

EDIT:
I was hoping for something like "You cannot add yourself as a friend", only with the Rep button, but instead it just says I've got 10 Rep, instead of my currently displayed amount.
Something buggy?

Rep power and rep points are two different things.

Such as I have like 4xx rep points right now and 88 rep power. If I repped you you would have 98 rep points, if I derepped you you would have -34 rep points.

 

Okay, I think I'm starting to understand how this whole deal works here. According to the FAQ, your "Rep power" is calculated based upon a combination of the factors: time since join, # of posts, and current reputation score. There's also a number of other features, such as a limit to how many posts you can rate per day or how often you can rep the same person, although Iunno what ones are turned on.
The number of blocks displayed is a general look at what "Tier" of the rep system a user is at, based upon their rep given, and you can hover over it to display that tier's title, which currently are set to the system defaults (I assume the tier point levels are as well).
