Alright, let me just put it out there that I hate this level. I've gone through maybe ten tries, and finally got to the mid-boss, only to be killed by it because I had around 6 HP/ 42 left. Is there some magic strategy that will get me through this?

PS: I'm ok with booster v2.0. I don't trust myself with it though.

Try not touching the spikes. You need to time your boosts so that you don't do that.
Seriously, it took me forever, FOREVER, to beat the Last Cave with 3HP. Just keep moving erratically around the Red Demon and use missiles (or the Spur, if you've got it) on him.

Well, actually, there is a "magic strategy", but it only works with Fireball/Snake. In the arena, on the right side, there is a small bump in the floor which you can use to deflect the Red Demon's projectiles. You basically stand behind it while he shoots, then run under him when he jumps and hide on the bump's other side, then repeat. While doing that, you just spam Fireball/Sake over/through the bump. But if you have MG/Spur/Polar Star, you'll have to practice how to avoid his attacks.

Hmmm

Yeah, there's not really much of a strategy for this, it mostly comes down to skill. {And this being the Final Cave, it's gonna be tough}
When you get near the halfway point and those bats start spawning, you could try and harvest them for hearts, but it usually ends up with you taking more damage than health regained....
After enough deaths, you'll get use to it and be able to get through with 40+ health...

For the Red Demon, I just dodge his attacks until after he jumps, and then strike him as he lands {Usually with the Spur fully charged}, and repeat.
It's slow, but with the Booster 2.0 you should end up not taking any damage...

Yep. I definitely didn't try that.

And I tried harvesting bats already. Chances are, I'll just mess up, and have to go at it again.

It's not hard to harvest the bats unless you're just bad at the game.

Unless you count how boring it is.

I get bored. Especially figuring that about one in ten bats drop a heart, and a tap against some spikes with undo five of that.

okay...sorry for the double post, but I'm at Red Demon again. 22Hp, but I didn't manage to upgrade machine gun to lv3.

Advice? Wish me luck?

Only one advice I can think of right now: Use Booster as much as you can. Good luck.

I think wishing you luck is the best thing I can do here. The Machine Gun sucks in boss fights.

Helped me in Ironhead, but that's besides the point. Alright, I'll try now.

If you have the nemesis, use it on him while dodging attacks. If you have the blade (most useful at level 1 here) use it on him while using the bump in the ground to absorb his attacks. The blade works well there, helps you if you're doing a 3hp run. If you have the blade, i'd almost recommend using it exclusively in the last cave, because of it's power.

Well, for me, I had the spur for the red demon. However, I upgraded the bubbler to level 3 for the drop blocks after the fight (time consuming, but it works!).

I would recommend trying it again (but keep the old save, just make a new folder and put it in that) and trying to get the Spur. It will save you from many deaths in the secret level.

For the Press Gauntlet, just keep running and kill all the critters in front of you. Whatever you do, DO NOT let up on the left arrow key until you are at the end. To get over the pool of lava you have to boost over it very close the the ground. If you get hit by a critter while you're over the lava, keep going, don't stop. Or, you could run past one Press, stop, kill it, get its exp/heart, run past one more Press, stop, kill it, get stuff, repeat. I go through it like that sometimes.

I think I'll try that.

Great. Well, I beat hidden cave. Now I'm stumped on the Doctor. I don't see how between Igor, Misery, Doctor and Frenzied Doctor I'll be able to survive.

Heheh

That Igor's pretty much a joke, you don't even have to fight him. But if you do get hurt or need ammo, before exiting Balcony go straight up after reaching the far end, there's supplies up there.
Misery requires a lot of dodging, and the Booster 2.0 helps with that. If you've got the Spur you can just dodge all of her attacks until she summons the circling orbs, then shoot off a full charge.
Doctor 1's pretty easy, just watch out for the crystal when he teleports {It does one damage :D} and just boost over his twirly attack thingy.
Number 2's more difficult because of the bat summon thingy, but you said you've got the Machine gun with you? Spamming that or anything fast right in front of him when starts to summon those gets rid of most of them, if not all. Boosting up into a corner and shooting down will protect you if you miss, too.
The next fight I'm spoiler-ing, just incase, because I hate spoiling anything.
The Undead Core fight is pretty big, but hiding near the back and flying around those two platforms will protect you from basically everything. I don't even have to kill Sue or Misery. {I didn't the first time because I was afraid of a bad/worse ending D=} The Core's only vulnerable when the face is shown, like the first fight, so you can spend the extra time fighting off Misery and Sue. Misery will only attack if you hit her first, though, so if you have good aiming you can ignore her completely. The Core's face will change depending on his ensuing attack, and the only one I can remember is his final one, when he's almost dead. He'll open his mouth wide and charge up a deadly beam that covers basically everything but the very top and bottom. Intense dodging is required for this fight, like all the others, but with the Booster 2.0 anything's possible :D
Practice is all that is really needed to be said.
Just wait until *Ahem* Hell.

:D
