JN is now at 1.2.
JN EASY and JN HARD are now released as version 1.0.

Hello, I'm New here. At any rate, while playing the game, I found a minor bug that can occur.

In Genesis water, rapidly tapping the jump button (with the booster 2.0) lets you fight water currents, which means you can accidentally fall off the edge of the screen.

Also could someone tell me how to make spoiler tags?

What do you mean, "fall off the screen"? where?

One example is the room
In genesis with the portal. Fighting the current with the above method lets you go all the way back to the right. The game design doesn't expect this to be possible, so it doesn't have anything but the current to prevent you from falling off the side of the screen. It is also possible to use the above method to get to genesis through the reservoir without doing the puzzle.

Well, I can easily fix the problem in the Darkened Pool, but there's not much to do about the reservoir puzzle. I suppose I could make a barrier around the door leading to G:water...

Sure, It might not even be necessary since you have to try incredibly hard in order to break the game at this point. :debug:

Otherwise, excellent work. (Though I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that)

So JN Hard is pretty awesome except...

Ultima is impossible with immune red bats. How are you supposed to dodge those lol?!

Bah, I forgot they stop your weapon attack.
I'll lower the damage of them and lower the hp of ultima A LOT.
But not too much. It is JN HARD, after all!
(Although, I think the lower max hp for quote and less of everything else will still murder you...I'll figure something out.

Hey, what if I give the player 20 hp at the start and then leave them with no life capsules? Or do you think that would drastically decrease the difficulty of the opening, as opposed to the endgame?

You can go with that idea, or what I would personally do is make it so that the bats can die, but when you do get hit by one it actually does a substantial amount of damage (like -10 or something like that?) The problem with making them completely immune to damage is it turns the battle into a war of attrition because its impossible to dodge all the bats he generates. You end up just trading blows till one person dies (at this point it's always me haha).

As far as the 20 hp thing is concerned, I think things are fine the way they are right now. If i can think of any point in the game that actually should be a bit tougher, I would recommend the Oblivion fight. Even though the critters are immune, you can just hang out on the left side of the screen and spam the Polaris so that you never deal with them. I would add one or two critters so that you're forced to dodge them throughout the fight, and maybe lower his HP a bit to compensate for this.

Hope this helps.

P.S. The critters in Egg Corridor are not immune to damage.

P.P.S. Please tell me where to find or at least give me a hint about the Nemesis. I know it involves that password in the dev room but I have no idea what the password would be haha.

I've got a decent number of questions here...

1: Is the Red Tower actually complete? Or is it simply impossible with the Booster 0.8. Or do I just fail? I've been trying to get up using the recoil jump, but that hasn't work.

2: I have the fuel cell, but what am I supposed to do to get the 2.0?

3: Does King do anything, or does he just keep saying "You shouldn't be here". Which is creepy, by the way.

4: Do I get the snake and polar star back? When?

5: You do know that the Monster-X fight (and the Great White Critter, or whatever) is completely skipable?

6: Why is Sue's sprite in Misery's Abode, with no interaction available.

7: Is this version of the game actually complete?

I hope someone gets around to answering these...

1. Well yeah, it was built to be difficult for the booster 2.0. You're supposed to have it by now.

2. You bring the fuel cell to Prof. Booster in the storeroom in sand zone.

3. He does lots, but near endgame.

4. Never.

5. That's been there for forever. It's something I kept in for nostalgia. As for skipping monster X, that's the point. You're supposed to RIDE him through the course. I'm pretty sure the gaudi mention that.

6. Randomness! Why is sue there? She never shows up there. Is she slightly to the left of king? (Like, two Quote widths)

7. Of course. That's what the 1. in 1.2 means.
My sig should also be a dead giveaway.

About the weird sprite:

King's sprite isn't in Misery's Abode, not that I've seen, anyway. I think she's at the bottom of the ramp, but I'm a ways away from there at the moment.

Last thing.
I've gotten to the top of the red tower, and the conversation with Oblivion implies that I've already fought Genesis. Sequence Break, or did I just misunderstand him?

And what's with the random dots on the map on the bottom part of the red tower? I tried to jump to them a few times...

Well, I don't think he says so. He says stuff saying he's the evil one.
As for the dots, those are just scenery tiles--wait, how are you using the map? I thought I fixed it so it didn't work! (Heh, that sounded funny.)

Well, it doesn't work in the Labyrinth, but everything else is fair game! Also, when I say "skip the Monster-X fight" I mean, you can just booster through the entire thing.
By the way "Last Thing" means last thing that night.
