You will probably have to wait for the release of the game. I really doubt Nicalis would answer questions about stuff like that. And it is pretty unimportant.
Since Santa gives you a Fireball, and he has a nice house (with spikes in it!) his whiskers probably protrude a few inches from his face.

That would make sense. It would at least explain why only those that are either A) unable to shave (Igor, and Itoh because he lacks the tools) or B) too rugged to shave (King) have whiskers.
